It was love at first swipe for this week’s White Lily bride Sarah and her husband Lee. From the dating app bumble to her husband-to-be’s bumblebee socks on their big day, we were swept away by their beautiful love story.
A Royal Proposal
“We were on holiday in Norway and decided to walk from our hotel along the Oslo fjord to the Viking Ship Museum (we love hiking together). In Norway, you can walk through properties as long as you are respectful and close the gates so we walked through the royal family’s summer palace garden and stopped at a small table and chairs overlooking the water. He proposed there and I must have cried for about five minutes straight before I was able to give him an answer”
Timeless Howard Smith Wharves Reception
When planning their wedding, Sarah and Lee “didn’t have a set theme in mind,” but knew that they wanted to keep things timeless. Through soft pinks and neutral tones, they brought to life a modern classic dream for their Howard Smith Wharves wedding.
Sarah’s Favourite Wedding Vendors
The Baker Boys Band, Mrs Gibbons Flowers, and Simply Divine Occasions exceeded Sarah and Lee’s expectations! The band went above and beyond for the reception with their live music and DJ that had everyone out of their seats. “They really made the atmosphere amazing!” Mrs Gibbons Flowers were incredibly responsive and catered to every request, bringing each venue to life with their lush floral arrangements. “The flowers were so stunning we’ve decided to get some preserved.” Another stand out was the talented Natasha from Simply Divine Occasions. “Her cakes are to die for and we kept eating cake after our wedding day.”
The First Dance
“It’s hard to pick one part of the day, but I’d have to say our first dance to the song ‘Dreams’ by The Cranberries. We took dance lessons in the lead up and it was so much fun getting to show off our new moves. The Baker Boys Band learned and performed this for us which made it really special.”
One Gown, Three Looks
Sarah said yes to JOVANI by Stella York and along with her White Lily consultant and the team at Ella Moda, she took her wedding dress to the next level by creating three different looks! For her ceremony, she created a timeless off-the-shoulder gown by wrapping a band of the same fabric across her bust and arms. “It was perfect.” For the reception, she took off the band and added the CHER overskirt by Rosa Clara. With tiered tulle, it is the ultimate wow factor, and gave Sarah “the princess feeling”. “Everyone loved it and thought I’d completely changed dresses. I loved how I felt in my dress! The specialist advice I received at White Lily made my look completely unique. I couldn’t have done without the guidance, I would never have considered the options without my consultant’s help.”
When asked if she had any advice for couples planning their big day, Sarah recommended scheduling ten minutes alone together at some stage on the wedding day. “It goes by so quickly and having ten minutes just the two of us allowed us to stop, enjoy the moment and take it all in.”
Navigating a Covid Wedding
Sarah and Lee took planning a wedding during Covid in their stride. Although they had to postpone, they were so glad they did and made the most out of the extra time to plan. “My advice would be to invite only the people you truly want there on the day. We had limited numbers we could seat inside due to Covid which made things tricky (as we made the call not to have anyone seated outside) but on the day it meant we could take time to speak with everyone, get photos with them and really enjoy everyone’s company.”
Now that you have moved onto the next chapter of your life, what is your favourite thing about being married?

A gorgeous day in Byron Bay, smiles as far as the eye can see, and a beautiful couple that finally gets to call themselves husband and wife. White Lily bride Beck and husband Sean caught our eyes with their undeniable happiness in every single photo from their special day.
13 years ago, Brisbane couple Beck and Sean had no idea that a visit to the EKKA Showgrounds would take both of them on the ride of their lives. A few drinks of confidence, a cheeky number exchange, and here we are!
“Sean organised a surprise weekend away at Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat. It was truly magical, a hidden bungalow, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the stunning rainforest… 100 tealights, rose petals and dinner for two. He got on one knee and popped the question. It was like a dream!”
Simple, yet elegant decor with crisp whites and deep tones of oak and burgundy. Captured by Mitch Lally Films and Steph and Maurice from Two Blushing Pilgrims, Beck and Sean’s day was raw and beautiful. The carefully selected flower placements with subtle hints of burgundy filled their reception and ceremony with warmth and romance. Luckily, after patiently riding the Covid wave, none of their plans were affected by Covid. In the end, all of Beck and Sean’s 70 guests were able to attend their Byron Bay wedding, which made the day truly special for everyone: “We knew we wanted to relive the day, watching our family and friends come together to celebrate our love story. It is the little details or precious moments that we might not have seen on the day (as it happens so quickly), that could be caught on film & watched over again.”
Let’s Talk Dress
Her smile says it all! GROVE by Stella York was, without a doubt, the dress for Beck: “I loved the colouring of the sheer on the bodice, the buttons down the spine, with the seamless detail of lace and tulle.” The romantic look of the lace details tied in perfectly with the elegant theme of the day and made her look effortlessly beautiful when striking down the aisle.
Beck’s Favourite Memories
Speaking about striking down the aisle: Upon asking Beck about her favourite moments from the day, her emotions from their ceremony came flushing back: “There was so much love..” How can you not be in tears when hearing your husband’s vows and listening to an acoustic performance of “I will always love you”?
Mr. & Mrs.
After all these years, Beck and Sean finally move onto the next chapter of their lives. Beck’s favourite part about being married is to finally call each other husband and wife: “…we still giggle and cannot believe after 13 years, we finally did it!” It has, indeed, been a long time coming!
Complete the sentence: Being married means committing to your best friend for life and loving all their rawness.

A breathtaking county scenery, gorgeous dried flower arrangements, and a mission to unite two lovers, for life. This week’s White Lily bride Meagan’s wedding day was pure perfection.
It’s a Love Story, Baby Just Say Yes
Meagan and Kieran first met on a night out at the Royal Exchange Hotel in Toowong. As it turns out, the RE truly is a matchmaker – Kieran finally proposed to Meagan on a mountain top, whilst traveling Canada, in December 2019.
Wedding Planning & Styling
As the months went past and Covid slowly hit Australia, the Brisbane couple decided to move their wedding date from September to December.
“We were fortunate enough that we were in the country that all restrictions were lifted come November. But the day is about you and your partner whether you have 5 people or 100 the love between you and your partner will not change so go ahead with your original plans.”
When their wedding day finally arrived, things couldn’t have worked out more beautifully.
Meagan and Kieran created a rustic-themed day with soft tones and blush decor. The country backdrop offered the perfect balance of grand scenery mixed with an intimate and relaxed atmosphere.
Putting a large emphasis on securing the perfect images on her wedding day, our White Lily bride’s precious moments were captured by Shutter and Lace Photography: “I remember two weeks after being engaged I messaged liv from shutter and lace to see what dates she had available for 2020.” And they truly turned our magical!
The gorgeous low back and show-stopping train of INGRAM by Stella York made Meagan fall in love with her dream gown: “I felt like a princess in it… I loved the detailing on my dress and the style enhanced my figure.“
The White Lily Experience
“From the first time I stepped through the door it was professional, from choosing my the gowns I loved to trying them on it was an amazing experience. There was no pressure at all and the extra treatment of providing champagne just topped it off.”
From Bride to Bride
We get the best advice from those with experience, so here are Meagan’s words of wisdom to all future brides: “Plan your wedding exactly how you want it, embrace all the planning because the day goes so quickly.”
With Covid changes being an all-time risk, Meagan also stresses to remember that the day is about you and your partner: “…whether you have 5 people or 100 the love between you and your partner will not change…” Despite the challenges throughout her wedding planning journey, our White Lily bride Meagan is now as proud as ever to call Kieran her husband. The loved-up couple is now looking forward to sharing the same last name and spending the rest of their lives together.

After 12 years of loving each other, White Lily Bride of the week Sammi and husband Warrick got to say their vows during an intimate and emotional ceremony at Braeside, on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Groom Warrick brought it home with his vows and made our bride of the week Sammi one happy wife: “He was so emotional in that moment and the love I felt was indescribable.” We love LOVE!
Planning a wedding that represented who they are as a couple was their first priority. So, to make their friends and family “feel in the moment” as much they did, Sammi and Warrick ensured that the couple’s big day revolved around their love for each other: “Remember that this is about you and your soul mate. You are celebrating your love and commitment to each other, and your day should be everything you want.” We couldn’t agree more!
One of Sammi’s favourite memories from the day was seeing her bridesmaids’ faces when spotting her in her wedding dress: “MY HYPE TEAM!! Thinking about it makes my heart so happy.” And her hype team was absolutely right, Sammi looked incredible in her wedding dress!
When she first walked into our Brisbane bridal store, she had no idea that she would fall in love with GALIAH by Stella York: “It was the complete opposite to what I imagined myself in, yet it was absolutely perfect in every way. The sparkle, the colour, the detail!! ARGHH I literally kept it out for 2wks and almost cried when I had to put her away!”
Upon asking Sammi what she loved most about her experience in our bridal boutique, she applauded our attention to detail and how she got to share the ‘Say Yes To The Dress’ moment with her closest friends and family: “I got to try on a range of dresses, I had Inese as my bridal consultant and she listened to everything I was saying. Down to the fine details, she listened to my family and what they loved and didn’t love. Then when I put the dress on, she and I both looked and just knew it was the one.”
Since Sammi and Warrick only started making final decisions one to two months before the wedding, they didn’t have to make any major Covid-adjustments. Although they were prepared for a dance battle, the only thing they missed out on was a d-floor. The Brisbane couple still managed to put together their dream wedding day with memories they will cherish forever. For all brides who are struggling with new Covid-19 restrictions altering their plans, Sammi’s advice is to keep calm and adapt to change “Don’t freak out, talk to your planner or other brides. Adapt to the changes, you will be amazed to find out you can still have your dream day even with a global pandemic.“Now, that the couple finally got married and Sammi is about to finish her degree, they are looking forward to buying a house together and hopefully going on a honeymoon soon.Scroll down to see all photos from Sammi’s special day…Venue: Braeside Gold CoastPhotographer: JessTookThisFlorist & Stylist: Style On QCake: Two Little BakersHair: Tina Kristen WeddingsMakeup: Cara Powell MUABridesmaid dresses: Forever NewSuits: Black Jacket SuitingCelebrant: Robert Simmons

Our first White Lily Real Bride of 2021 glamorously strut down the aisle during her beautiful ceremony at St James Church, in Brisbane. Their celebrations continued at the Victoria Park gold complex; Chandeliers, blush flower constellations, and a dress that took hubby’s breath away – Candice’s wedding day was the perfect combination of culture and glamour.
The couple first met in Brisbane city, when their families got together for an event. Turns out Candice and Roberto’s mothers were best friends over 30 years ago but eventually lost touch. In 2015, they decided to bring together their families and reignite their friendship. Who could have known that their kids would fall in love? Bringing together the husband and wife’s family has never been so easy…
When planning her Wedding, Candice ensured that the couple’s cultural traditions were honoured. Most importantly, the Brisbane couple wanted to enjoy their day to the fullest and make memories they would cherish for all eternity. And so they did: “The whole day, every moment was so special and had that once in a lifetime feeling. We cherished every moment – big or small!” Mission complete!
As mentioned above, Candice’s wedding day was as glamorous as ever. And so was her wedding dress. She fell in love with the colour, the details, and the crystals on INDRA by Stella York: ”… I slipped into it – it took my breath away and I knew it was made for me.” Candice’s visit to our Brisbane boutique was a success and we were so excited to make her bridal dreams come true. “The staff were so amazing even during the COVID-19 Pandemic they catered to my needs and made my dreams come true. My dress arrived before the scheduled time – the ladies worked to make it all happen for me.”
Although Candice and Roberto had to change their location, their wedding day turned out to be perfect. With help from their amazing wedding stylists Nicole and Justine from Beautiful Weddings, they overcame all Covid-19 boundaries and create something even more special. The Brisbane couple learned to just take it as it is and adapt to changes: “It makes it just that tad more special – and a great story to tell the kids!“
Given the above, Candice’s advice to future brides is to just relax and take it easy throughout the planning process. “The more relaxed you are the smoother things will run.” Keeping a cool head in stressful times truly works wonders! Candice also emphasises to enjoy all the moments you have together on the day and take the time to tell your husband or wife how amazing they look!
Now that Candice and Roberto finally said yes to eternity, the couple is looking forward to traveling the world together, start a family, and grow old together.

High school sweethearts Grace and Nat got our hearts melting with their super cute love story and fairytale-like ceremony at Samford Uniting Church Grounds. Grace and Nat’s love story began way back in grade nine, where their close friendship blossomed into love.
When Grace planned her wedding, she made sure that their special day was celebrated with their closest friends and family. It was Grace’s dream to have an outdoor wedding and after numerous plan changes and COVID alterations, the couple finally managed to get their dream location. When Grace initially sent out her invitations, she had no idea that COVID was going to change everything: “Oh man, the irony of it all… I organised invitations seven months before our wedding, and then we had to change venue three times due to COVID. When restrictions changed a week before our wedding and we couldn’t keep our contingency location, we were allowed back to the original location and plans! We laughed when we realised we could have used the original invitations after all (except they’re still sitting in my cupboard)!”
Despite the initial frustration of having to alter their invitations, the Brisbane couple was over the moon to be celebrating their love at the venue of their choice. It all worked out the way it was meant to be.
When we asked Grace what her favourite moment of her wedding day was, she remembered standing in front of Nat when he gave his speech, during their reception: “…looking out into the beautiful fairy lights and greenery to our dearest people, and feeling so supported, loved and thankful to finally be married to my husband!” Our hearts are officially melted!
Grace walked into our Brisbane boutique looking for a flowery lace dress and fell in love with GAIA by Stella York. She loved the feel of the dress and how it made her feel like it was part of her skin. She was also obsessed with the invisible neckline on her gown. When describing her White Lily Couture experience, she said that she felt really relaxed and like she had all the time in the world: “I described my dream dress, and there it was in front of me!”
Offering advice to future brides and couples, Grace emphasises to remember what really matters and why you are there: “Hold onto all of the details lightly because they’re ultimately not important.” Although COVID changed their plans in many ways, Grace and Nat are more than happy with how their special day played out. “In the end, we were so thankful for our day and the adversity only made us closer! When things are out of your control like they are now, it is important to do what you can with what you have, rather than ruminate on your “dream day”. It will still be beautiful!”
After Grace and Nat’s wedding day, the couple is now more excited than ever to see what the future holds for both of them. Unsure where exactly the years will take them, Grace and Nat both know that there will be a lot of beach exploration, at as many new shorelines that they can find!

It was the intimacy that made their special day unforgettable. White Lily bride Hannah and Adrian’s wedding day was filled with laughter, joy, and endless love.
From high school friends to partners for life – Hannah and her husband Adriaan’s journey began way back in year 8, when they were placed in the same class together. As their friendship formed throughout the years, Hannah and Adrian went to year 12 formal together and finally started dating not long after graduation. High school sweethearts in a nutshell!
As COVID19 struck, Hannah and Adriaan’s initial plans of having their big white wedding with 120 guests was cancelled. However, waiting around wasn’t an option for the both of them. ”After a lot of thought we decided we didn’t want to wait any longer to be married and moved forward with 16/05/2020 and the restrictions were lifted to 10 guests the night before so our immediate families could come!”
In the end, it was the intimacy that made their wedding day unforgettable. They moved the wedding to Adriaan’s parents farm, where they celebrated by a fire and created memories they will cherish forever. “It was just about us wanting to be married and not all the big stresses of a normal wedding.” Can it get any more romantic?
When Hannah came to White Lily, all the the stress and anxiety from moving her wedding forward vanished. “Lisa was so kind and caring and just made the experience very enjoyable… The whole process was faultless and I’m very thankful to White Lily! ”
Although, Hannah didn’t initially want to try on GENEVA by Stella York, she ended up saying yes, as soon as she saw how beautifully it fit. “I love that it was really beautiful in its design, it wasn’t in your face but it had so many small details in the lace and bedding.” Hannah ended up looking absolutely stunning in her dress.
Given the stressful times Hannah was put through, she was able to give one major piece of advice: Don’t stress about the small things! “Before the wedding got cancelled I was so stressed about flower placement and how many canapés etc but once it wasn’t possible to have the big wedding it just put it all in perspective! It’s about you and your partner getting married and sharing that special moment together.” Sometimes we just need to rewind and think about what truly matters. In the end it’s all about the love, isn’t it?
Initially, the couple planned to spend their honeymoon on Hamilton Island; however, they decided to postpone their plans to next year. “…we just ended up spending two nights in Maleny together in a little cabin which was very romantic and sweet.” Although things didn’t go as planned, the freshly married couple is beyond excited to spend the rest of their lives exploring and having fun together.
White Lily bride Hannah really shows us, that no matter what curve balls get thrown at you, true love always wins.

Meeting in drama class in high school, Maddy and Dominic have been in each other’s lives for the past nine years, leading them to wed in a coastal wedding ceremony on the blissful Ladies Beach followed by a celebratory reception at The Flying Fish Restaurant in Port Elliot, South Australia.
When planning their wedding, the couple ensured everything that they booked and organised reflected them. “I wanted every detail to have a significant meaning to us so that the whole day was memorable,” she said.
“The day was about us, not pleasing others, and we had the best day ever.”
Wearing the delicate and contrasted laced Geneva gown by Stella York, Maddy felt like herself: beautiful, comfortable and excited to show off her gorgeous gown. Sharing the most memorable moment of their wedding day was their first kiss as husband and wife in their favourite place, “it was perfect!”
When asked what advice she would give to couples preparing for their wedding, Maddy offered these words of wisdom:
“Don’t sweat the small things! DIY as much as you can, it’s fun. Stay true to yourselves when booking suppliers and enjoy the process, everything works out perfectly on the day I promise.”
The couple will embark on their honeymoon later this year travelling the UK, Italy, Greece and France. Following this, Maddy and Dom can’t wait to get their sky diving license together and travel the world. “We want to build a life from our shared values and love for the ocean, our family and friends… and maybe babies one day,” she said.
