Romantic luxe was on Sophie’s mind when planning her special day and we are in love! Hundreds of blush and white roses, a mixture of candles and fairy lights, paired with golden decor and luxe cocktails – we couldn’t take our eyes off this week’s White Lily bride Sophie and husband Jake’s images. With help from the couple’s vendors, their vision was brought to life: “My wedding planner, florist & caterer were most important. All of these vendors did the most amazing job and I couldn’t have been happier!”
After meeting through mutual friends in Queensland’s Bundaberg, Jake proposed to Sophie at their family’s beach house in Agnes Waters. Originally, Jake had planned to surprise her with a helicopter ride to heart reef; however, Mr Covid forced Jake to whip out plan B and ask Sophie to be her wife in a slightly different setting. Despite Covid’s impact on Jake’s proposal plans, the Queensland couple’s wedding wasn’t affected by the pandemic: “We were so thankful that we didn’t have to change our date. The week leading up to our wedding all restrictions were dropped. We were so lucky!” Celebrated on private property, Jake and Sophie’s special day was truly magical.
Sophie’s Favourite Memories
With the planning and day going by so fast, Sophie particularly remembers “Walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing my husband at the other end – This was such a special moment!” Sophie also appeals to other brides, who are currently planning their wedding, and advises to take it all in: “Try and enjoy all of the planning & preparation even though it may be stressful! Time flies!”
It’s All About The Sparkle
The star-studded designer gown Constellation by Atelier Pronovias is a true showstopper and tied in perfectly with Sophie’s romantic and luxe wedding theme. The snowflake tulle on our Atelier gown is truly unique and exactly what Sophie was looking for: “The sparkle! It was like nothing I had ever seen before. It was so gorgeous and I had so many compliments!” We seriously can’t take our eyes off these photos!
Future As Mr. & Mrs.
Now that the couple has entered their next chapter as husband and wife, Sophie and Jake are excited to see what life has in store for them. The Queensland couple is also over the moon to finally be able to call each other husband and wife.

A boho-luxe theme with a European feel was on this week’s White Lily bride’s mind when planning her wedding in Byron Bay. Upon canceling her original plans of getting eloped in France, Lizzy and JP finally celebrated their love in an intimate and beautiful ceremony at Byron View Farm.
A Big Apple Love Story
Imagine looking at the view of New York’s skyline, turning around, and seeing the love of your life on one knee! Lizzy and JP’s proposal story has us dreaming of overseas trips: “JP proposed on a trip to the US in September 2019. He told me he had organised a nice dinner and we caught the ferry over to Long Island NY. We stopped and looked at the view of New York skyline, took some photos etc and then when I turned around he had got down on 1 knee and started saying all these beautiful things, and had organised a professional photographer. Can confirm we were both in tears!”
It is no surprise that travel lovers Lizzy and JP originally planned on getting married overseas. With Covid throwing a spanner in the works, our White Lily couple was determined on bringing the European feel to their new location in Byron Bay: “Since we weren’t able to travel, we were looking for a European feel with a timeless, boho luxe, elegant, fun wedding with a lot of beautiful white, dusty pink and neutral details.” Not only was their special day embellished with beautiful decor, but it was also filled with memories the couple will cherish forever; Lizzy specifically remembers walking down the aisle and having her first dance with her now-husband JP in the rain – so dreamy!
Complete the sentence: Being married means being loved so much that you always feel safe.
Lizzy’s Dream Wedding Dress
A modern minimalist’s dream – Lizzy wore OBERON by Pronovias and absolutely stole the show! Oberon’s minimalist yet elegant mikado fabric made the dramatic train pop, creating the most astonishing silhouette. The button details on the back completed Lizzy’s dream bridal look and made her feel beautiful on her special day. Upon asking what she loved most about her White Lily experience, she reminisces about her Luxe Lounge experience: “We had booked the Luxe Lounge experience and wow it didn’t disappoint! Being able to bring my bridesmaids and my mum to the fitting as well as enjoying some bubbly and treats was so special…The girls were amazing, professional, understanding and so much fun to work with.”
Speaking From Experience
We love asking our brides for planning advice and often hear the same words: don’t stress over the little details: “Try not to stress over things you can’t control, remind yourself that this day is about you and your other half so just ENJOY every single moment, don’t worry about anyone else and have fun! It will be the best day of your life.”

Being immersed in one of the world’s most gorgeous natural habitats, this week’s White Lily bride Kate and husband Simon took our breath away with their stunning wedding images by Kiwicaptures. Their helicopter ride to the top of Peninsula Peak allowed the couple to catch the most beautiful sunset; not only were they surrounded by magical scenery and unbelievable views of New Zealand’s Wanaka, but it was also a beautiful epilogue to their mountain top engagement in 2017.
Tell us how the question got popped!
“Simon proposed in June 2017 on our first day skiing at Coronet Peak. He made me walk to the top of Coronet Peak- I wasn’t really appreciating this request at the time as I had to walk in my ski boots (which were bloody heavy). When we got to the top, I thought wow this is so unreal I can’t wait to show my siblings the photo. Having turned away from Simon to take in the glorious view, I then turned around to see him on the ground. I initially thought he had dropped something and it wasn’t until he pulled out the shiny ring box I clicked. I of course said yes and after a good twenty minutes coming to terms with what had happened, we then we skied down the mountain and met up with my brother and sister who were over skiing from Aussie also at the time.”
Their styling was minimal yet beautiful with a focus on all the important things: A stunning location, great company and food, and lots of booze! “We really wanted a venue where we could supply our own booze- being the big booze heads we are (jokes). Thankfully we found that in Lookout Lodge. We didn’t really have a style in mind but once we picked our venue, we knew we wanted something which would suit the venue- we ended up going quite minimalistic with styling. I also knew I wanted a family banquet platter style delivered to the table as strongly believe food is what brings people together.” Cheers to that!
Just like Kate and Simon’s location choice, our White Lily bride’s dream dress was inspired by nature. The floral lace appliqués on ELARA by Pronovias complimented the NZ couple’s wedding in every way. When first trying it on she loved how light and comfortable it felt: “I didn’t want to feel restricted on the day or have to go on a crazy diet regime just to fit the dress.” Kate also added some custom bows to her straps to make the gown even more unique and add an ‘extra touch of NZ’. We are obsessed!
An Overseas Wedding in Times of Covid
Anyone who has family overseas knows how hard and devastating it can be to watch Covid change your plans over, and over, and over again. As Kate is originally from Australia, our global pandemic was pure devastation. Originally, their wedding was planned for April 2020 and soon postponed to January 2021. Despite their hopes of being able to spend their big day with their loved ones from Australia, borders remained shut: “After much deliberation, heartache and uncertainty we set a new date for Jan 12th 2021 with high hopes that a NZ-Australian bubble would be in operation by then. Unfortunately, that was not the case and it meant getting married without 47 Aussies that had originally booked to come over for our wedding (including my four bridesmaids). Thankfully I had two good NZ friends’ step in as bridesmaids for me on the day- which helped tremendously as I felt less alone and they went above and beyond to make up for the fact my family and friends couldn’t make it.” Despite their heartbreak and devastation, Kate and Simon made the most out of their day by FaceTiming their loved ones and life streaming their ceremony thanks to Wanaka Video. Their Aussie guests even made a surprise video: “Simon organised this with the help of sister Brooke who is a video whiz- it was a real tear jerker and a complete surprise to me.”
Upon asking Kate what valuable advice she has for other future White Lily brides, she appeals to everyone who is on the fence about getting their photos done prior to their ceremony: “…just do it. It makes for a way more relaxed ceremony and you get to spend more time with your guests after the ceremony. Also, when you first see each other, it is just you two- no one else which is pretty special.”
Just The Beginning of Eternity
“My favourite thing about being married is that there is no more wedding organisation- jokes- all that aside, it is pretty cool knowing that the person I love the most in the world is now my husband and despite a world-wide pandemic and family living overseas we made our wedding work.”

“We planned a wedding in 30 days and on the 29th day we went into lockdown.”
Anyone planning a wedding knows that 30 days to put together your special day is nearly impossible. Imagine doing so in the middle of a global pandemic. This week’s White Lily bride Eleanor and husband Jack went through all imaginable wedding planning craziness. However, dropping their guest list from 140 to 20 guests, the day before, couldn’t stop the Brisbane couple from celebrating their love for one another.
“Jack proposed in the same theatre he had first seen me perform in. Flashback to 2017: We just had our first date, a trip to the exhibition on Li Cunxin, [the ballet dancer] at the Brisbane Museum. I had a concert that night and in between our lunch and the performance he booked a ticket to surprise me… I think the date went well considering he also didn’t love ballet. Fast forward three years and the proposal was a complete surprise. He asked if I’d like to go out to lunch the night before and I was a bit annoyed at him because I wanted to invite this other couple to join us but he refused. We drove up to this restaurant parallel to the theatre and he said we should go in and have a look, you know “for old times’ sake”. I walked in and all of the chairs had been removed bar one… the one he sat in the first time he saw me perform. There were candles everywhere and the stage was set with a grand piano and a microphone. There was someone playing. As we sat in the chair, a friend walked out and started singing one of our favourite songs ‘So Will I’ by Ben Platt. He asked me to dance and then got down on one knee. It was magical.”
Wedding Theme & Style
With Covid restrictions in place, our Brisbane couple’s big day was all about love and intimacy: “The whole day was full of the people we loved the most…” Eleanor’s childhood backyard was turned into a magical place with subtle white flower petals and romantic candles and fairy lights, creating a truly intimate atmosphere. Best of all, everything was put together and prepared by Eleanor and Jack’s loved ones: “…my best friend did my hair and makeup, I put together my bouquet in 10mins with flowers bought from Woollies, we had it in my childhood homes backyard, Jack’s grandmother officiated the ceremony, our really close friend took our photos, our sister-in law was our videographer, my sister made the cake, Jacks best friend played the piano as I walked down the aisle.” That’s a dream team if we’ve ever seen one!
Atelier Pronovias Bridal Dreams
When Eleanor visited us with her mum and sister, she instantly fell in love with the classic yet dramatic details on our GALAXY gown by Atelier Pronovias. “We had the most glorious staff member help us and she listened to everything that I wanted and brought forward a large range of dresses, however, she was clearly amazing at her job because the dress I ended up choosing was the first dress I tried on in the store. “ Upon asking our White Lily bride what she loved most about her dress, she pointed out the high neckline and low back, which was everything she had been looking for in her dream bridal gown.
Looking strikingly beautiful in her wedding dress, Eleanor first stepped in front of her future husband Jack during their pre-ceremony reveal: “…that was the most exhilarating moment. It was so intimate and special to share that without the pressure of being in front of anyone else. So, when it came to walking down the aisle, I was having the best time and could really take it in. Would highly recommend this to any couple!”
Future As Mrs & Mr
After sharing the most beautiful and intimate day with their nearest and dearest, Eleanor and Jack are now more than excited to create their own family culture and traditions together: “We really want to be intentional about how we spend our days and what impact we want to have on the world around us. It’s pretty fun!”

“Calling my love my Husband and him calling me his Wife – there’s something special about that title.”
After 3 years of loving each other, this week’s White Lily bride Kaitlyn and husband Lachlan finally said their I do’s during their elegant Cali’ style wedding at the Calile Hotel on James Street, Brisbane.
The Picture-Perfect Proposal
“Lachlan proposed to me after 3 years of being together on a holiday in Western Australia. We had been on a wine tour of the Margaret River and he asked me to marry him at sunset on a private beach with a cheese and wine picnic.”
What was originally planned a backyard wedding, turned into the most exquisite, yet simple and elegant ceremony and reception in the City. Their gold and white decor was the perfect finish to the Californian vibe of Kaitlyn and Lachlan’s venue choice. Carefully placed greens along with white orchids and roses added a romantic touch and completed the tasteful and minimalist theme of the day: “We always wanted a simple and elegant wedding with basic formalities to spend more time with our guests.”
When planning their wedding, Kaitlyn and Lachlan had to deal with many last-minute changes, due to evolving COVID restrictions; However, luckily, none of their vendors let them down in any shape or form: “The top 4 were The Calile as a whole venue, Kate Dawes floristry, Carly Slade our celebrant and Figtree Photography – these 4 vendors focused on every single detail or our day making for a seamless, stress free and relaxing wedding day for ourselves and our families.“
When Kaitlyn first walked into our bridal boutique, she had a clear vision in mind: “There were so many different styles of gowns at White Lily Couture but I gave a description of who I was and my style and the third dress I tried on was the one – the girls at White Lily listened to who I was and what I wanted out of a wedding dress while still including my Mum and best friend in the experience. I felt like I was the only and most important customer in the shop at that time.” Our White Lily bride fell in love with the minimalist and elegant features of ANTIOPE by Pronovias: “…what I loved most was that it was a timeless style that I’ll always look back on and always love it just as I loved it on our wedding day.”
A Piece Of Advice
Experience is our best teacher so here is a piece of advice from this week’s White Lily bride: “…the most important thing I learnt is that it doesn’t matter what you do for your wedding, it is a day about love and if you have the ones you love with you the day will be perfect. Our wedding day was about us but it was also our opportunity to say thank you to all the important people in our lives for raising and supporting us up until that day cause now you have your husband/ wife to do that for the rest of your life.”

This week’s White Lily bride Cass and husband Myles’ story goes all the way back to 2010. Starting off as friends, their hearts eventually found to one another, in 2017. Now, just over three years later, the Brisbane couple finally gets to share the same surname.
“Myles proposed to me at sunrise on the Caloundra headland. We lived together on the Sunshine Coast prior to moving back to Brisbane in 2019, and we would go for walks along the headland every weekend. Myles called in assistance from one of my best friend’s, Larissa, who has the most incredible eye for detail and lives on the Sunshine Coast, and they got to planning. It isn’t out of the ordinary for Myles and I to spend a weekend on the Coast staying at my parent’s apartment, and it isn’t out of the ordinary for us to get up early and go for a walk along the beach. Myles used these facts very much to his advantage! We got up early on the Saturday morning and headed for Caloundra. When we arrived, it took a while for pre-coffee Cass to catch on! Larissa and her husband, Anthony, had beaten us to the headland and set up the most incredible picnic with fairy lights, champagne, photos, and breakfast for two. As we walked down the cliff I clutched onto Myles, cried, and repeated “no” roughly 16 times. Thankfully, this didn’t throw him! Myles proposed, and of course, I said yes! “
Imagine a rustic warehouse wedding in Brisbane city. A combination of white and copper flower arrangements, hundreds of candles, antique rugs, exposed red brick, and white fabrics draping from the high ceilings at The Warehouse – This week’s White Lily couple nailed their wedding styling: “…we also wanted our wedding to be different than the usual city wedding, we didn’t want something that screamed we were in the middle of the Brisbane CBD.” Challenge completed!
Covid Wedding Chaos
As many of our brides know, planning a wedding for 2020 came with a LOT of obstacles. Since Cass and Myles’ wedding day was originally planned for the Easter long weekend in April 2020, the Brisbane couple had to cancel their plans only 2 weeks prior to the date. Cass and Myles were only just lucky enough to celebrate their hens and bucks party in the pre-covid world. However, postponing their wedding sadly meant that a lot of their nearest and dearest weren’t able to attend: “Myles’ whole extended family and some of our friends are from Victoria, so they were unable to attend in person and celebrated with us virtually. One of Myles’ groomsmen was stuck in London, and we had other close friends stranded in America, Vietnam, and Amsterdam. My grandmother also passed away in late April, so we were devastated.” Heartbreaking!
Vendors – Who Made the Magic Happen?
With help from their wedding stylist Main Event Weddings, the couple created a truly unique ceremony and reception vibe. Almost as though, Covid wasn’t a thing! All details came together beautifully. Their wedding cake from their “cake making queen”, Marina from Marina Machado Cakes completed the reception and tied in perfectly with their rustic, yet chic styling: “Marina is the most creatively gifted cake maker we have ever come across! Not only did she create the cake of Myles’ dream (a good cake was a high priority for Myles!), but she went above and beyond and surprised us on the day with an additional tier made out of white chocolate and raspberry, a flavour I had mentioned in passing was one of my favourites. What. A. Dream!”
The Wedding Dress That Left Everyone Speechless
As Cass walked into our bridal boutique, she had no clue what she was looking for: “The whole experience at White Lily Couture was easy and comfortable. I had been to two other bridal stores and had felt pressure from their stylists to know exactly what I wanted. When I walked into White Lily Couture for my appointment, I gave the stylist a rough budget, told her I had no idea what I wanted, and we went from there! She had me try on all sorts of dress styles to rule out what I didn’t like and to rule in what I felt comfortable in. My bridesmaids and I had a lot of fun, and a sneaky champagne or two! When I walked out of the change room in my Pronovias gown, the girls fell silent. We all knew we had found the winner! I then got my Mum on FaceTime, and the deal was done.”
“You do you! Many people will offer advice/input/tips in the lead up to your wedding, and majority of this comes from a loving place and from wanting to help. However, this can be really overwhelming. Once you learn to politely say “thank you for your input, I will take it on board” and then go ahead and do what you want, planning a wedding becomes infinitely easier. Also, a budget! Make a budget! Make a spreadsheet! Pretend you’re going to stick to it!”

One thing is for sure, White Lily bride Jordyn and husband Jordon’s wedding day is one to remember. Starting with their oh-so fitting names, their picture-perfect day was gorgeous in every way. Colourful details and tasteful decor, made this week’s White Lily bride and her guests have an unforgettable day.
And just like their wedding day, the way Jordyn and Jordon met was unique and sweet. You know we love a good high school love story, so we were beyond excited to hear that these two lovebirds met all the way back in 2013. The Queensland couple had been going to the same school for years and eventually bonded during their exchange trip to Japan. Inseparable since, Jordyn and Jordon finally became hubby and wifey, seven years later.
Being a Covid-bride means overcoming obstacles, which is why the Brisbane couple had to postpone their wedding day by six months. Yet, rescheduling their celebrations couldn’t stop them from eloping on their original date: “We loved our original date so much that we decided to elope with just our mums and celebrant.” What a great way to keep your original wedding date!
She came, she saw, she fell in love with ERMIN by Pronovias. Our gorgeous ERMIN gown arrived as part of our 2019 collection and Jordyn instantly fell in love with its details, quality, and uniqueness. “My White Lily gown was comfortable, flawless and such stunning quality. I loved that I could add sleeves to make my dress slightly more me. It looked absolutely magical and I couldn’t have loved it more!” Adding the sleeves to her dress completed her vision and gave Jordyn a custom look, that truly photographed incredibly.
Jordyn’s piece of advice to future brides
“Don’t take it too seriously – enjoy the process and try not to get too caught up in pleasing everyone else!“
Jordyn and Jordon are now ready to tackle their future as husband and wife and can’t wait to start a family together.

Our White Lily bride of the week Alex and her husband Alexander met on a blind date for their grade 12 formal in October 2008. After getting a good glimpse of what Alexander would look like in a suit, Alex couldn’t deny the fact that he was The One for her. The couple finally got married on the same day, just twelve years later. So, apparently, blind dates can turn out alright… High school romance truly is the sweetest!
So now that we’ve established that the Brisbane couple’s love story is not only super cute but also one of a kind, let’s talk about their wedding day! Upon asking our Brisbane real bride what her favourite part of the day was, she remembers being walked down the aisle by both of her parents. Walking towards her husband is a memory Alex will cherish forever. It was a moment that was just about the couple and their love for each other, which is something that was super important to Alex when planning her wedding. Alex wanted to make sure that “…it was a day we enjoyed and that was ‘us’.” Thoroughly enjoying your love for one another on your wedding day is something we can’t emphasise enough!
When we asked Alex what made her experience in our Brisbane bridal boutique so special, she said “I felt like a bride!”. She tried on a number of different dresses and ended up falling in love with ELARA by Pronovias, a dress that one of our consultants had suggested for her. “It felt like me, it suited the venue and it was comfortable!! I also felt beautiful.” Nothing makes us happier than making our brides feel beautiful on their special day!
Although Alex and Alex were able to keep their original wedding date, Covid restrictions disabled their guests from overseas and interstate to attend their special day. Instead, they were able to watch the couple’s vows via Zoom – 2020 in a nutshell! Despite the initial disappointment of not having a dance floor, all of their guests had a blast: “My suggestion for other brides is to try not to stress too much about restrictions, your day will be amazing no matter how many little hiccups there are. “
When we asked Alex if there was any other advice she wants to give to future brides she said “Make sure your wedding is what you want and that it’s something that you can afford.” Roger that!
Now that the couple is finally married after twelve sweet years, they are looking forward to just enjoying life as husband and wife with their cat Nora and dog Holly!

It’s been a long time coming. After eleven sweet years of dating, Hayley and Brandon finally got to say “I do” during their intimate ceremony at Hillstone St Lucia. Despite Covid, the gorgeous couple was able to share their special moment with all of their closest friends and family, creating a magical atmosphere and unforgettable day.
Hayley and Brandon met through Brandon’s brother, in 2009. From the moment she laid eyes on him, she couldn’t help herself but immediately fall head over heels for Brandon. Eleven years later, they finally got to tie the knot.
As the couple was planning their special day, Hayley put a big emphasis on finding the right venue with great food and drinks. The couple truly wanted to create moments, their guests will love and cherish forever. “We are all about friends and as much as everyone says this is your day, we had a hard time revolving it around us as we wanted our guests to really enjoy all the elements to our day.” And they sure delivered!
When we asked Hayley what the most memorable part of her wedding day was, she said that the ceremony was incredibly intimate and special. Every single one of their 140 guests was laughing and crying with them throughout, which made Hayley and Brandon’s ceremony unforgettable. Going through difficult times made the couple realise how valuable it is to have close friends that support you and stand by your side no matter what. Their ceremony was everything they could have hoped for.
When Hayley walked into our Brisbane boutique, she was looking for a dress that stood out and was different from the gowns she had seen on other brides. She instantly fell in love with PASIPHAE by Pronovias.“It was the very first dress I had ever seen and I knew it was going to be the one. It was classy but sexy and different to anything I had seen any other brides wear before.“
When asking her what made her experience at White Lily Couture special to her, she said that the staff was not only extremely helpful but also made her feel truly special. “…although they see brides every single day, the way you are treated you are made to feel as you are the first bride they had ever dealt with and that I think would be so hard to do.” Hayley ended up looking absolutely stunning in her dress and we couldn’t be happier to see her glow on her special day.
Hayley’s advice to other couples, who are preparing for their wedding, is to trust in their vendors and their expertise. The couple went in without having any expectations and real plans, yet managed to pull off the most amazing wedding day “…we have hired them for their talents and expertise and their eye for detail so we personally think what made our wedding as visually beautiful as it was, came down to us trusting our vendors and letting them create the magic for us.”
Upon asking how Covid affected the couple’s plans and whether she had any suggestions for other brides planning in these tricky times, Hayley said to not worry about the small things and to just focus on the bigger picture “Getting married during these crazy times made us realise that the small things that maybe once would have set you off or mattered no longer do. All that matters is you get married in front of the people you love most standing next to the person you love.”
Although there were no dancing elements to the couple’s reception, their MC created the most fun and entertaining show, which kept all of their guests highly entertained. “I think it is so important to have an epic MC to work the crowd to make their time in the seats just as good as if they were up dancing. “ Despite Covid, it truly was a fun and magical day for the newly married couple and all of their friends and family.
Hayley and Brandon are now more excited than ever to start a family in their own house together and to book their next overseas holiday, once the world opens up again. How exciting!
