Pure elegance was on our minds when first getting a glimpse of this week’s White Lily bride Alexandra and husband John’s beautiful wedding images. White roses, lush greenery, and flowing champagne made the Brisbane couple’s Gabbinbar Homestead wedding as glamorous as ever. Not only was their special day one to remember, but the way these two lovebirds met in 2016 kind of reminded us of a movie…
“I was a private nanny to a beautiful family who had twins… It was the twins’ third birthday party and when I arrived, I was introduced to their Uncle John. I had one look at him and thought he was absolutely gorgeous! That was in 2016. John and I paths wouldn’t cross again until the following year when I was invited to his mum’s birthday party. I was nannying the twins all day and then his mum’s birthday party was held at the twins’ house. I didn’t know John was attending so I was just in work clothes, covered in paint from craft with the twins earlier in the day. John walked in and I got butterflies. We couldn’t take our eyes off each other all night and conversation flowed!”
With a wedding so gorgeous and thoughtful, it is no surprise that Alexandra and John’s proposal story was just as beautiful. Just short of two years ago, our White Lily couple went on a family holiday to Europe. As you do, Alexandra and John went on a scenic cruise from Amsterdam to Switzerland. Cruising through the country of love, John got down on one knee: ”…Unbeknownst to me, John had organised with the gentleman running the cruise to clear the top deck. John asked if I could wear his favourite dress of mine for formal night, which I did. He invited me up to the outdoor top deck and proposed to me on the canals in France! I was so happy, shocked, and excited and I course said yes.”
Wedding Styling and Vendors
“Formal and elegant“. Those were the two words on Alexandra’s mind when putting together her dream wedding. And she nailed it! Captured by The Finches, their Gabbinbar Homestead wedding was the perfect combination of a formal and romantic setting. With fairy lights and fireworks, Alexandra and John were able to celebrate their love at its fullest.“A vendor that we are over the moon happy about is our videographers…The job they did filming our wedding day is pure perfection!” We couldn’t agree more.
Zavana Couture is known for their intricate beading and fine details, which is why THEIRRY was the perfect dress for Alexandra’s elegant dream wedding. The luxurious mermaid gown with plunging neckline was a true showstopper: “The thing I loved most about my white lily gown was the detail of the beading! Oh my gosh! My dress was glamorous! Every single person commented on how STUNNING my dress was! I felt so elegant in it!”
Alexandra’s Advice to Future Brides
“Surround yourself with positive people….” A lesson that is so valuable in all aspects of life was something that immediately popped into Alexandra’s mind upon asking her for wedding planning advice: “I noticed it would really get me down when people would make comments like “oh. Your wedding probably won’t even go ahead.” Instead I listened to the ones closest to me, and there was nothing but positivity. We ended up having a perfect wedding with no restrictions!”
Married Couple Things
“My favourite things about being married is knowing we are married! It’s something I’ve wanted for so long! I love calling John my husband and I love being introduced as his wife. New chapter for us is starting a family and trying for baby Kearney :)”

Dried palms combined with luscious blush roses, this week’s White Lily bride Bec and husband Zac celebrated their love with the most stunning setup at Sirromet Winery. After living in almost the same suburb, studying the same degree at the same uni, Bec and Zac finally got introduced to each other by a mutual friend: “We were meant to meet somehow.” A few years later, the Brisbane couple is onto the next chapter of their lives.
“Zac took me to Noosa on our dating anniversary. He told me were going to dinner. Next thing I knew, he walked me over to the beach, where a beautiful boho luxe tepee was set up with cushions, fairy lights, candles, rugs, chocolate, wine, fruit, nibbles, etc. He proposed on the beach in our favourite little spot.”
Wedding Style and Decor
“Chic, classic & timeless with a touch of boho luxe” were Bec’s words upon asking what best described the style of her wedding. Instead of focusing on one particular style, Bec and Zac found a balance between soft, classic elegance, and rustic yet luxe boho touches. Why settle with one theme, if you can make both work? Their palm leaf arches for their ceremony were the perfect contrast to the couple’s selection of white and blush flower arrangements. Surrounded by wine barrels and fairy lights, Bec and Zac’s nearest and dearest were able to enjoy the warmest and most welcoming atmosphere. Despite their postponed wedding date, Bec enjoyed every moment of putting together her dream wedding day; her advice to future brides is to just enjoy the process: “…It all goes so quick. Soak everything up along the way.”
Thousands of beads combined with the most form-fitting silhouette, NICKY by Enzoani was the perfect match for Bec: “I felt so beautiful.” The plunging V as well as the low back created the most elevated look and tied in perfectly with the elegant theme of the day. Upon asking Bec what made her White Lily experience special for her, she emphasised our caring team of stylists: “The girls!! they’re all so incredible & made me, my mum and my MOH feel so welcome & comfortable.”
When planning their wedding, Bec and Zac’s biggest focus was on their photographer and videographer: “Photos and videos are things that last forever & can be passed on to our future family.” White Fox Studios nailed it with their gorgeous images, capturing every moment in the most beautiful way. One memory that Bec particularly cherishes was the moment she hopped out of the limo “to see my best friend down the aisle waiting for me…” Thanks to White Fox Studios Bec and Zac (and us) will be able to relive that moment over and over again.
Mr. and Mrs.
Complete the sentence: Being married means: officially starting life with my best friend as one. Now that Bec and Zac have moved onto the next chapter of their lives, Bec’s favourite thing about being married is: “Knowing that I’ve started a whole new chapter of my life with the person I love the most.”

What flower dreams are made of. Looking at the photos from White Lily bride Angeline’s wedding day left us completely stunned. The Brisbane couple celebrated their love with a beautiful ceremony, followed by a uniquely decorated reception with, not hundreds, but thousands of gorgeous flowers. Their carefully selected flower arrangements truly showcased the mastery of attention to detail. The subtle colour palette put the focus on Angeline’s wedding dress, which made it all come together like a true masterpiece.
Meeting at iSEE Church in Brisbane, Angeline and Joseph soon realised that ‘forever’ sounds like the perfect plan. Getting married in the place they met, truly was their dream come true; we couldn’t have been more excited to be part of Angeline’s bridal journey.
When Angeline visited our Brisbane bridal boutique, she remembers having her eyes shut when putting on her dream wedding dress: “…as soon as I put my hands in the sleeves I just lost it! (I cried happy tears of course haha) I loved it immediately before I had seen it on me. “ It is those magical moments that we love most about our ‘job’. We remember seeing Angeline wearing MARQUISE by Zavana Couture and thinking “Yup, that’s the one!” Angeline also recalls walking into our store and feeling special and looked after at all times: ”As soon as I walked in the doors, immediately we were looked after. I had my mother, my sister and brother with me (that was so special) the staff went above and beyond to make it so special for not only me but my family.” How could we not love our job?
Upon asking what Angeline’s favourite part of the day was, she reminisces about the moment she walked down the aisle; ”Walking down the aisle with my father was so special and walking towards my husband. It felt like everything just paused and it was just the two of us! I can always see that moment when ever I think about it. It was definitely a dream!” Definitely one of those moments that gives us goosebumps by just thinking about it!
Being a family oriented person, Angeline wanted to make sure that both of their families were able to attend and witness their wedding day. Despite the stressful nature of COVID-19, the Brisbane couple was able to share their big day with all of their loved ones. Something truly special during these uncertain times!
When thinking about their future plans together, the Brisbane couple is looking forward to exploring the world together; once COVID restrictions ease, of course. A little later down the track, Angeline and Joseph would also love to start a family together – having “little ones running around” is definitely something the newly married couple is looking forward to!
Angeline also left us with a short but extremely valuable piece of advice for those in the midst of planning their wedding:
“Enjoy it! Enjoy every process. If you love it, go for it! It’s your day.”

Being surrounded by friends and family, Christian couple, Danielle and Jicaro, said their vows in a dreamy ceremony at High Church. Followed by a gorgeous reception at the Emporium Hotel in Southbank, their special day was absolutely magical.
As Danielle would say, the way the couple met was “quite 21st-century style…”Although Danielle and Jicaro went to the same High School, they didn’t really know each other, until they met through Facebook. Just after graduation, they realised they were the ones for each other. Thanks, Mark.
When Danielle and Jicaro got engaged, they only had five months to plan their wedding. However, they both knew that they wanted their wedding day centered around the Christian faith. “The most important part was, of course, our ceremony and our vows to each other.“
And just how they imagined, their wedding day turned out to be everything they had wished for. We asked Danielle what the most memorable part of her special day was, and she said that she was blessed to be marrying the love of her life and best friend. “We were just so blessed to be able to have our wedding shared with our closest family and friends.” Isn’t that just beautiful?
When Danielle came to White Lily, she fell in love with the intricate detailing of our gorgeous TATUM gown by Zavana Couture. “I always envisioned a unique and beaded wedding dress. It was exactly what I wanted and couldn’t believe I found it.” And she looked absolutely stunning!
Since the couple only had a few months to plan their wedding, Danielle’s advice to future brides is to not overthink decisions. “Having only 5 months from when we were engaged to getting married, made decisions much easier as we didn’t have too much time to think about it. We didn’t think twice. “ Taking away the pressure from having to make every single detail picture-perfect, makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable.
Being in the midst of our current pandemic, the couple had already planned to postpone their honeymoon for later this year. Now it is just a matter of time until they can take off. “We are still hoping to travel to Europe particularly visiting Italy!” Just imagine sipping on a glass of wine and enjoying the Italian sunset with your husband. How dreamy! In the meantime, Danielle and Jicaro are working on their plans to build their dream home together.

Simone and Jeremy’s timeless and elegant wedding could have leapt straight out of the pages of Vogue. However, it wasn’t the details of the day, but the couple’s love and commitment that truly shone.
Their romance and courtship was what one might call a slow burn. It took almost a year after friending each other online to start their relationship. Simone recalls how they first came to meet”
“Way back in December 2016, I convinced my girlfriend Lucy to join me for a Friday afternoon wine at a local bar in Teneriffe, Sixes & Sevens, so I could vent about the string of dating disasters I’d had lately and that there didn’t seem to be any nice guys out there.
Before long Lucy and I had found ourselves talking to a group of guys, Jeremy arrived a bit later in the night to meet them as he was working late. He says he wanted to talk more to me, but apparently I was giving off a very strong ‘go away, not into you’ vibe. I also thought he was not interested. We went our separate ways that night with barely more than a few sentences exchanged.”
Clearly this wasn’t the case as things unfolded online!
“His friend sent me a FB friend request, and after accepting I flicked through his friends and Jeremy popped up. We became FB friends, and although it took a couple of messages from Jeremy (I forgot to reply – bad I know) we started talking. He was a very patient man, because it took 6 months to go on our first date, and it was 11 months after we first met that we started a relationship!”
Fast forward to 2019 and the couple began planning their wedding. They wanted to focus on creating a special day that reflected both of them as a couple and also wanted to ensure they had covered all their bases covering everything down to the very last detail.
“Our stunning venue Fins at Plantation House was a big part of bringing our vision for the day to life given its location, beautiful spaces and fine food.” Said Simone
We couldn’t help but sit back in awe as we clicked through Simone and Jeremy’s gallery. It was clear the beautiful styling and planning had taken place. A focus on crisp ivory and subtle neutrals lay at the heart of their modern elegant styling.
Simone fell in love in the boutique when she came across the Tatum gown by Australian designer, Zavana Couture. “I loved the mix of old & new Hollywood design.” She said of the full geometric beadwork of the gown. “It was comfortable to wear all day and night and I wish I could have worn it forever.”
She styled her fashion-forward wedding dress with hair in classic waves and bold statement pearl earrings. The bridal party matched perfectly with bridesmaids in light gold slip dresses and groomsmen in light beige suiting.
However for Simone, it wasn’t all of these gorgeous details that shone brightest – her most memorable part was the look on Jeremy’s face (get ready for immeasurable warm fuzzy feelings!).
“I will also never forget the elated smile that Jeremy had on his face all day when he looked at me as we had our photos together.
Another really special moment was just before sunset when we entered our reception, Jeremy was looking up at the sky and as he looked back down I noticed he was welling up (he will call it dust in his eye) and he said:
‘I can’t believe this day is here and I’ve married you, everything is perfect.’”
Could these two be any sweeter?
Although the onset of Covid19 has dashed their European honeymoon dreams for now, this hasn’t stopped their getaway plans. “We are now looking a couple of mini honeymoons around Australia, possibly North QLD or WA. Or we may wait until they open up travel to NZ or the Pacific Island region and head to Fiji or Cook Islands.”
Simone left us with her golden nuggets of wisdom for those in the midst of their wedding planning journey – and we suggest you take note!
- Don’t panic too much, it all comes together in the end anyway. Small things don’t really matter on the day.
- You can plan as much as you like, but sometimes the plan doesn’t come together so just go with it.
- Sounds cliché, but immerse yourself in experiencing every single second of your wedding day, it will go by in a blur.
- Remember it’s your day, so have the people, the food and the fun that you both love.

Caitlin and Daniel’s big day was a glorious Summergrove Estate wedding, with the bride absolutely rocking her fully beaded wedding dress! Caitlin shared with us a little about how they came to be and all the magic of their big day!
The pair share a classic meeting story, having first crossed paths at a wedding of all places! Five years ago, Caitlin’s friend Laura was set to marry Daniel’s brother Ryan. Despite knowing Ryan for years, she had never met his dashing brother.
“I could not believe my eyes when I walked into their wedding ceremony and saw Dan standing up there as Best Man.” Says Caitlin, “I stared him down all night, but we actually didn’t speak at the wedding, so I went home thinking he hadn’t noticed me.”

Courtney and Aaron’s big day was all about not only the treasured special moments for themselves, but for everyone involved. From sharing their special vows in front of all their cherished family and friends, to Courtney walking arm-in-arm with her Pop down the aisle and the duo’s stunning second reception with Aaron’s family in London. Ultimately, it was a wedding celebration with all their nearest and dearest.
Courtney and Aaron met while on a gap year when they were both just nineteen! They first met through mutual friends and began working together at a restaurant shortly thereafter. The rest is history as Aaron popped the question and the two began planning their wedding!
Our stunning bride wore the intricately beaded Katrin by Spanish label, Rosa Clara, complete with a tulle overskirt for the ceremony. Courtney loved this added layer to her bridal style.

After meeting at a friend’s 16th birthday party, Kate was head-over-heels for smooth-talker Jayden. The pair hit it off and now, years later found themselves arranging their wedding. They both agreed on what mattered to them most. We sat down with Kate to hear how it unfolded and her thoughts on what’s really important on your wedding day!
Aglow in the joy of their big day, Kate strode down the aisle looking beyond fabulous in Myra by Enzoani – a heavenly beaded mermaid gown with Chantilly lace underlay. She knew it was ‘the one’ straight away while shopping at White Lily Couture’s Brisbane boutique. Kate says,
“I loved that as soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one. I thought I was going to have such a hard time choosing, except the dress chose me! It made me feel beautiful and feminine. As soon as I put that dress on I felt amazing, I loved the way it looked, sat and fell on my body. I tried it on so many times before the wedding as I just loved the way I felt in it.” – The ultimate bridal feeling!

Here at White Lily, we love a good destination wedding, and Amelia and Nathan’s Hawaiian wedding did not disappoint! Bathed in sunlight and blessed with amazing weather, the newlyweds and their guests were treated to a day full of love, beautiful Hawaiian tradition and celebration.
Amelia and Nathan’s story began all the way back in high school! Partnered together on a project as wee teenagers in grade eight, the unstoppable pair fell into step with ease.
“We were polar opposites – Nathan super quiet and shy and me super dramatic and over the top, but somehow we just clicked.” Says Amelia.

Samantha and Nathan’s emotional wedding turned out to be a most beautiful day filled to the brim with tears, joy and love. Having met at the tender age of 14, the pair were ready to say ‘I do.’
They had first crossed paths at a dance party courtesy of a mutual friend and have been inseparable ever since. Samantha told us of how their love story played out over the years,
“We felt that no matter what life dealt us, we could take it on because we had each other. Two children, houses and investments later, and we still had not gotten around to getting married because we kept telling ourselves that there was more important things in life than a big flashy wedding. Then just a month shy of our 12 year anniversary, Nathan had decided it was time to pop the question. Before he had a chance to pick up the ring, he was in a horrific accident resulting in him sustaining a spinal cord injury. Our lives became a rollercoaster ride for some time, but it really brought to light the importance of life, our family and our love.
The following year, Nathan proposed while playing hangman with our daughters at the beach we used to run away to when we first started dating. I still get goosebumps and tears when I think about it!
We set our wedding date to Wednesday the 9th of May 2018 – our 15 year anniversary. We had a small and intimate wedding with our family and dear friends and to say it was a magical day was an understatement. Emotions were running high and with our youngest daughter crying because her daddy was crying, there wasn’t a dry eye in the Butterfly Forest!”
The couple opted for a lush garden setting with plenty of greenery at Wetland Walkabout with a contemporary and romantic reception at the Marquee Mackay Marina. The day featured pops of blush pink and dusty blue with plenty of foliage.
Samantha looked positively radiant in Wanda by Nicole Spose – a soft and whimsical A-line gown featuring stunning beaded illusion lace through the bodice. Our beautiful bride said it was everything she’d imagined and then some! With the help of stylist, Maddie, Samantha was able to take her dream dress from Pinterest to reality!
Samantha explained, “I picked my gown with the idea of having a modern elegant meets traditional princess feel.”
We definitely think that together, they nailed the brief! Our beautiful bride also loved the fact that her gown allowed for plenty of wine, cheese and fun to be had!
Samantha paired her bridal look with a single-tier raw-edged veil, statement silver earrings, a classic glamour up-do and a bold smokey eye.

Heidi and Scott’s dreamy beachfront wedding took place on Magnetic Island. With bridesmaids swathed in navy floor-length gowns and the party carrying bouquets of lush neutral florals, the day couldn’t have been more blissful.
Heidi looked absolutely stunning in Wallis by Nicole Spose – an exquisite drop-waist ballgown with a glorious amount of tulle.
