Dried palms combined with luscious blush roses, this week’s White Lily bride Bec and husband Zac celebrated their love with the most stunning setup at Sirromet Winery. After living in almost the same suburb, studying the same degree at the same uni, Bec and Zac finally got introduced to each other by a mutual friend: “We were meant to meet somehow.” A few years later, the Brisbane couple is onto the next chapter of their lives.
“Zac took me to Noosa on our dating anniversary. He told me were going to dinner. Next thing I knew, he walked me over to the beach, where a beautiful boho luxe tepee was set up with cushions, fairy lights, candles, rugs, chocolate, wine, fruit, nibbles, etc. He proposed on the beach in our favourite little spot.”
Wedding Style and Decor
“Chic, classic & timeless with a touch of boho luxe” were Bec’s words upon asking what best described the style of her wedding. Instead of focusing on one particular style, Bec and Zac found a balance between soft, classic elegance, and rustic yet luxe boho touches. Why settle with one theme, if you can make both work? Their palm leaf arches for their ceremony were the perfect contrast to the couple’s selection of white and blush flower arrangements. Surrounded by wine barrels and fairy lights, Bec and Zac’s nearest and dearest were able to enjoy the warmest and most welcoming atmosphere. Despite their postponed wedding date, Bec enjoyed every moment of putting together her dream wedding day; her advice to future brides is to just enjoy the process: “…It all goes so quick. Soak everything up along the way.”
Thousands of beads combined with the most form-fitting silhouette, NICKY by Enzoani was the perfect match for Bec: “I felt so beautiful.” The plunging V as well as the low back created the most elevated look and tied in perfectly with the elegant theme of the day. Upon asking Bec what made her White Lily experience special for her, she emphasised our caring team of stylists: “The girls!! they’re all so incredible & made me, my mum and my MOH feel so welcome & comfortable.”
When planning their wedding, Bec and Zac’s biggest focus was on their photographer and videographer: “Photos and videos are things that last forever & can be passed on to our future family.” White Fox Studios nailed it with their gorgeous images, capturing every moment in the most beautiful way. One memory that Bec particularly cherishes was the moment she hopped out of the limo “to see my best friend down the aisle waiting for me…” Thanks to White Fox Studios Bec and Zac (and us) will be able to relive that moment over and over again.
Mr. and Mrs.
Complete the sentence: Being married means: officially starting life with my best friend as one. Now that Bec and Zac have moved onto the next chapter of their lives, Bec’s favourite thing about being married is: “Knowing that I’ve started a whole new chapter of my life with the person I love the most.”

They say the way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach, which is why it is no surprise that this week’s White Lily bride’s first date a Max Brenner was a winner. A few years later, Emma and Josh finally got to celebrate their love with 70 of the Brisbane couple’s nearest and dearest at their stunning Summergrove Estate dream wedding.
Tell us the deets – Who proposed and how?
We love a good proposal story and this one sure is one to remember. Our White Lily couple had just climbed a mountain top in Wanaka, New Zealand when Josh pulled out a handmade anime storybook of the two of them: “We sat down on top of the mountain and he read the book to me. The last page said will you marry me!” Romantic and crafty, we love it!
Elegant with a Pop of Peach
A venue so sleek and elegant doesn’t need much to impress, which is why Emma’s choice of decor was kept simple yet elegant. Peachy orchids with hints of blush seemed to be the perfect fit for Summergrove Estate’s stunningly beautiful and natural backdrop. Their chapel featured floral arbours framing the endless mountain views, accompanied by subtle and modern touches. The elegant theme was carried through to Emma and Josh’s reception, where white candles and thoughtful bits and bops created a warm and beautiful atmosphere.
Wedding Planning Advice from the Bride
“Try not to stress over the little things! People go to your wedding to see you get married and celebrate with you, they’re not looking at the small things.”
Memories to Cherish
Captured by the talented Kirk Willcox, Emma’s favourite memory was walking towards Josh, just moments before saying their ‘I dos’. “The moment they opened the doors for my dad and I to walk in, was the most memorable part! I could see my future husband smiling at me and our loved ones reactions! We shed a few tears during the ceremony.”
Complete the sentence: Being married means having a best friend to make life long memories together.
Stunned by its quality fabrics and unique design, Emma found her dream bridal gown in MIMI by Enzoani: “My favourite feature was the lace train, so beautiful! I also loved how the buttons lined by back and continued to the end of the train. The lace and crepe material was so unique and elegant. Perfect!! I went to Skilled Stitches and she did a perfect job with taking the hem up and altering the size.”
After saying yes to the dress, Emma walked away from White Lily as happy as ever: “The ladies at White Lily were so helpful. They picked out a few dresses for me, and I chose one as my wedding dress. I didn’t think I liked the crepe style, however, as soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one.” We were absolutely blown away when Emma’s images were sent our way; we couldn’t have been happier when seeing her shine on her special day.
As newly married couple, Emma and Josh are now excited to start their own family. “It’s so nice to just enjoy married life with no more planning!”

It was love at first swipe for this week’s White Lily bride Sarah and her husband Lee. From the dating app bumble to her husband-to-be’s bumblebee socks on their big day, we were swept away by their beautiful love story.
A Royal Proposal
“We were on holiday in Norway and decided to walk from our hotel along the Oslo fjord to the Viking Ship Museum (we love hiking together). In Norway, you can walk through properties as long as you are respectful and close the gates so we walked through the royal family’s summer palace garden and stopped at a small table and chairs overlooking the water. He proposed there and I must have cried for about five minutes straight before I was able to give him an answer”
Timeless Howard Smith Wharves Reception
When planning their wedding, Sarah and Lee “didn’t have a set theme in mind,” but knew that they wanted to keep things timeless. Through soft pinks and neutral tones, they brought to life a modern classic dream for their Howard Smith Wharves wedding.
Sarah’s Favourite Wedding Vendors
The Baker Boys Band, Mrs Gibbons Flowers, and Simply Divine Occasions exceeded Sarah and Lee’s expectations! The band went above and beyond for the reception with their live music and DJ that had everyone out of their seats. “They really made the atmosphere amazing!” Mrs Gibbons Flowers were incredibly responsive and catered to every request, bringing each venue to life with their lush floral arrangements. “The flowers were so stunning we’ve decided to get some preserved.” Another stand out was the talented Natasha from Simply Divine Occasions. “Her cakes are to die for and we kept eating cake after our wedding day.”
The First Dance
“It’s hard to pick one part of the day, but I’d have to say our first dance to the song ‘Dreams’ by The Cranberries. We took dance lessons in the lead up and it was so much fun getting to show off our new moves. The Baker Boys Band learned and performed this for us which made it really special.”
One Gown, Three Looks
Sarah said yes to JOVANI by Stella York and along with her White Lily consultant and the team at Ella Moda, she took her wedding dress to the next level by creating three different looks! For her ceremony, she created a timeless off-the-shoulder gown by wrapping a band of the same fabric across her bust and arms. “It was perfect.” For the reception, she took off the band and added the CHER overskirt by Rosa Clara. With tiered tulle, it is the ultimate wow factor, and gave Sarah “the princess feeling”. “Everyone loved it and thought I’d completely changed dresses. I loved how I felt in my dress! The specialist advice I received at White Lily made my look completely unique. I couldn’t have done without the guidance, I would never have considered the options without my consultant’s help.”
When asked if she had any advice for couples planning their big day, Sarah recommended scheduling ten minutes alone together at some stage on the wedding day. “It goes by so quickly and having ten minutes just the two of us allowed us to stop, enjoy the moment and take it all in.”
Navigating a Covid Wedding
Sarah and Lee took planning a wedding during Covid in their stride. Although they had to postpone, they were so glad they did and made the most out of the extra time to plan. “My advice would be to invite only the people you truly want there on the day. We had limited numbers we could seat inside due to Covid which made things tricky (as we made the call not to have anyone seated outside) but on the day it meant we could take time to speak with everyone, get photos with them and really enjoy everyone’s company.”
Now that you have moved onto the next chapter of your life, what is your favourite thing about being married?

Working in the wedding industry has its perks. Not only do we get to dress our gorgeous brides for their special day, but we also get to work with a group of amazing wedding industry professionals, who all work their magic to make wedding dreams come true. Connecting as a business and creating bonds with other wedding vendors helps us to understand our industry from all angles. It’s almost a holistic approach to making the perfect day truly perfect. We team up, we bond, and we create; but most importantly, we share meaningful insights into what our brides truly want for their 2021 and 2022 weddings.
A First For Us, With Many To Come
Last Wednesday, the 28th of April, we hosted our very first ‘What’s The Tea – A Conversation with WLC’ networking evening. Understanding that networking events can be daunting, to say the least, we created a concept based on genuine conversations, comfort, and honest thoughts. A place to sit back, relax, and have a meaningful chat. It was all about connecting with other businesses, sharing each other’s ups and downs, and passing on key learnings from everyone’s wedding industry journey. And all of that whilst sipping on cocktails provided by the girls from Mr Consistent and demolishing delicious cupcakes from Petal and Peach.
A huge thank you goes out to AVIDEAS, who turned our cozy boutique into the perfect ‘sips & dips’ location – Their dining setup from The Boxd Society tied in perfectly with the rest of our decor and created a truly magical atmosphere. Another special thank you goes out to Tahlia and Jesse from Wylde Folk Studio, who captured the evening, so we could share our memories with all of you.

A gorgeous day in Byron Bay, smiles as far as the eye can see, and a beautiful couple that finally gets to call themselves husband and wife. White Lily bride Beck and husband Sean caught our eyes with their undeniable happiness in every single photo from their special day.
13 years ago, Brisbane couple Beck and Sean had no idea that a visit to the EKKA Showgrounds would take both of them on the ride of their lives. A few drinks of confidence, a cheeky number exchange, and here we are!
“Sean organised a surprise weekend away at Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat. It was truly magical, a hidden bungalow, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the stunning rainforest… 100 tealights, rose petals and dinner for two. He got on one knee and popped the question. It was like a dream!”
Simple, yet elegant decor with crisp whites and deep tones of oak and burgundy. Captured by Mitch Lally Films and Steph and Maurice from Two Blushing Pilgrims, Beck and Sean’s day was raw and beautiful. The carefully selected flower placements with subtle hints of burgundy filled their reception and ceremony with warmth and romance. Luckily, after patiently riding the Covid wave, none of their plans were affected by Covid. In the end, all of Beck and Sean’s 70 guests were able to attend their Byron Bay wedding, which made the day truly special for everyone: “We knew we wanted to relive the day, watching our family and friends come together to celebrate our love story. It is the little details or precious moments that we might not have seen on the day (as it happens so quickly), that could be caught on film & watched over again.”
Let’s Talk Dress
Her smile says it all! GROVE by Stella York was, without a doubt, the dress for Beck: “I loved the colouring of the sheer on the bodice, the buttons down the spine, with the seamless detail of lace and tulle.” The romantic look of the lace details tied in perfectly with the elegant theme of the day and made her look effortlessly beautiful when striking down the aisle.
Beck’s Favourite Memories
Speaking about striking down the aisle: Upon asking Beck about her favourite moments from the day, her emotions from their ceremony came flushing back: “There was so much love..” How can you not be in tears when hearing your husband’s vows and listening to an acoustic performance of “I will always love you”?
Mr. & Mrs.
After all these years, Beck and Sean finally move onto the next chapter of their lives. Beck’s favourite part about being married is to finally call each other husband and wife: “…we still giggle and cannot believe after 13 years, we finally did it!” It has, indeed, been a long time coming!
Complete the sentence: Being married means committing to your best friend for life and loving all their rawness.

Being immersed in one of the world’s most gorgeous natural habitats, this week’s White Lily bride Kate and husband Simon took our breath away with their stunning wedding images by Kiwicaptures. Their helicopter ride to the top of Peninsula Peak allowed the couple to catch the most beautiful sunset; not only were they surrounded by magical scenery and unbelievable views of New Zealand’s Wanaka, but it was also a beautiful epilogue to their mountain top engagement in 2017.
Tell us how the question got popped!
“Simon proposed in June 2017 on our first day skiing at Coronet Peak. He made me walk to the top of Coronet Peak- I wasn’t really appreciating this request at the time as I had to walk in my ski boots (which were bloody heavy). When we got to the top, I thought wow this is so unreal I can’t wait to show my siblings the photo. Having turned away from Simon to take in the glorious view, I then turned around to see him on the ground. I initially thought he had dropped something and it wasn’t until he pulled out the shiny ring box I clicked. I of course said yes and after a good twenty minutes coming to terms with what had happened, we then we skied down the mountain and met up with my brother and sister who were over skiing from Aussie also at the time.”
Their styling was minimal yet beautiful with a focus on all the important things: A stunning location, great company and food, and lots of booze! “We really wanted a venue where we could supply our own booze- being the big booze heads we are (jokes). Thankfully we found that in Lookout Lodge. We didn’t really have a style in mind but once we picked our venue, we knew we wanted something which would suit the venue- we ended up going quite minimalistic with styling. I also knew I wanted a family banquet platter style delivered to the table as strongly believe food is what brings people together.” Cheers to that!
Just like Kate and Simon’s location choice, our White Lily bride’s dream dress was inspired by nature. The floral lace appliqués on ELARA by Pronovias complimented the NZ couple’s wedding in every way. When first trying it on she loved how light and comfortable it felt: “I didn’t want to feel restricted on the day or have to go on a crazy diet regime just to fit the dress.” Kate also added some custom bows to her straps to make the gown even more unique and add an ‘extra touch of NZ’. We are obsessed!
An Overseas Wedding in Times of Covid
Anyone who has family overseas knows how hard and devastating it can be to watch Covid change your plans over, and over, and over again. As Kate is originally from Australia, our global pandemic was pure devastation. Originally, their wedding was planned for April 2020 and soon postponed to January 2021. Despite their hopes of being able to spend their big day with their loved ones from Australia, borders remained shut: “After much deliberation, heartache and uncertainty we set a new date for Jan 12th 2021 with high hopes that a NZ-Australian bubble would be in operation by then. Unfortunately, that was not the case and it meant getting married without 47 Aussies that had originally booked to come over for our wedding (including my four bridesmaids). Thankfully I had two good NZ friends’ step in as bridesmaids for me on the day- which helped tremendously as I felt less alone and they went above and beyond to make up for the fact my family and friends couldn’t make it.” Despite their heartbreak and devastation, Kate and Simon made the most out of their day by FaceTiming their loved ones and life streaming their ceremony thanks to Wanaka Video. Their Aussie guests even made a surprise video: “Simon organised this with the help of sister Brooke who is a video whiz- it was a real tear jerker and a complete surprise to me.”
Upon asking Kate what valuable advice she has for other future White Lily brides, she appeals to everyone who is on the fence about getting their photos done prior to their ceremony: “…just do it. It makes for a way more relaxed ceremony and you get to spend more time with your guests after the ceremony. Also, when you first see each other, it is just you two- no one else which is pretty special.”
Just The Beginning of Eternity
“My favourite thing about being married is that there is no more wedding organisation- jokes- all that aside, it is pretty cool knowing that the person I love the most in the world is now my husband and despite a world-wide pandemic and family living overseas we made our wedding work.”
Complete the sentence: Being married means you still have to work at your relationship – just because you are married doesn’t mean that you should not go on date nights or do the things you did before you were married.Venue: Lookout Lodge, Wanaka

A love story that goes all the way back to 2010! This week’s White Lily bride Claire met her one and only on what Claire thought was going to be a normal work day. Their relationship as co-workers soon blossomed into a bond for life. Eleven years later, it was finally sealed with the most elegant wedding at Gabbinbar Homestead. Just like Blair’s proposal, overlooking Brisbane City at Kangaroo Point, the White Lily couple’s wedding day was filled with pure romance.
White roses, chandeliers, romantic candles, and subtle black decor – What can we say? Claire and Blair’s special day was gracefully beautiful: “…we love everything black and white and wanted to capture that style within the day.“ Styled by Poppies for Willow, the Brisbane couple’s Gabbinbar Homestead wedding was everything they had hoped for.
It’s All In The Details
“For us we definitely wanted a great photographer, good music and delicious food. Our aisle song was ‘Simply the Best’ sung acoustically and it was perfection. Our Florist was amazing and thought of every single detail. We couldn’t be happier with the suppliers that we selected. For me specifically, I’ve had KM Make up do my hair and make up for other weddings and I knew they were who I wanted for my own, those girls are so professional and skilled, I couldn’t recommend them enough.”
Bridal Dreams By Emmy Mae
Claire said ‘Yes To The Dress’ after trying on our fit and flair gown PEONY by Emmy Mae Bridal: “I loved how unique and modern it was. As soon as I tried it on, I felt that it matched my personality perfectly and knew it was the one.”
Initially, Claire was worried that her dream bridal experience was going to be ruined by Covid. However, as soon as she arrived at our Red Hill boutique, all of her worries were made redundant “I was so lucky that White Lily were able to make the occasion really special and exciting. Each person that I came into contact with was so lovely, an expert on all the dresses and most importantly there was no pressure to make a decision in that moment! I felt the communication was easy and they exceeded my expectations with each visit. From the styling of the boutique and the amount of dress options to the gorgeous people who work there, the experience far exceeded any others.”
The Worst Someone Can Say Is No
Saying that planning a wedding can be stressful at times would be an understatement, so here is a piece of advice from a bride who nailed it:
“Consider what you want and make sure you don’t skimp on whats important to you as a couple. Take control of your own day and make sure what you organise suits you both. Ultimately we live by the motto – ‘the worst someone can say is no’. We always take the risk and ask the question if we really want something, we relied on this advice and we had the best providers who were able to ensure we had everything that was important to us on the day.”
Complete the sentence: Being married means the exciting start of the next chapter of our lives.

“We planned a wedding in 30 days and on the 29th day we went into lockdown.”
Anyone planning a wedding knows that 30 days to put together your special day is nearly impossible. Imagine doing so in the middle of a global pandemic. This week’s White Lily bride Eleanor and husband Jack went through all imaginable wedding planning craziness. However, dropping their guest list from 140 to 20 guests, the day before, couldn’t stop the Brisbane couple from celebrating their love for one another.
“Jack proposed in the same theatre he had first seen me perform in. Flashback to 2017: We just had our first date, a trip to the exhibition on Li Cunxin, [the ballet dancer] at the Brisbane Museum. I had a concert that night and in between our lunch and the performance he booked a ticket to surprise me… I think the date went well considering he also didn’t love ballet. Fast forward three years and the proposal was a complete surprise. He asked if I’d like to go out to lunch the night before and I was a bit annoyed at him because I wanted to invite this other couple to join us but he refused. We drove up to this restaurant parallel to the theatre and he said we should go in and have a look, you know “for old times’ sake”. I walked in and all of the chairs had been removed bar one… the one he sat in the first time he saw me perform. There were candles everywhere and the stage was set with a grand piano and a microphone. There was someone playing. As we sat in the chair, a friend walked out and started singing one of our favourite songs ‘So Will I’ by Ben Platt. He asked me to dance and then got down on one knee. It was magical.”
Wedding Theme & Style
With Covid restrictions in place, our Brisbane couple’s big day was all about love and intimacy: “The whole day was full of the people we loved the most…” Eleanor’s childhood backyard was turned into a magical place with subtle white flower petals and romantic candles and fairy lights, creating a truly intimate atmosphere. Best of all, everything was put together and prepared by Eleanor and Jack’s loved ones: “…my best friend did my hair and makeup, I put together my bouquet in 10mins with flowers bought from Woollies, we had it in my childhood homes backyard, Jack’s grandmother officiated the ceremony, our really close friend took our photos, our sister-in law was our videographer, my sister made the cake, Jacks best friend played the piano as I walked down the aisle.” That’s a dream team if we’ve ever seen one!
Atelier Pronovias Bridal Dreams
When Eleanor visited us with her mum and sister, she instantly fell in love with the classic yet dramatic details on our GALAXY gown by Atelier Pronovias. “We had the most glorious staff member help us and she listened to everything that I wanted and brought forward a large range of dresses, however, she was clearly amazing at her job because the dress I ended up choosing was the first dress I tried on in the store. “ Upon asking our White Lily bride what she loved most about her dress, she pointed out the high neckline and low back, which was everything she had been looking for in her dream bridal gown.
Looking strikingly beautiful in her wedding dress, Eleanor first stepped in front of her future husband Jack during their pre-ceremony reveal: “…that was the most exhilarating moment. It was so intimate and special to share that without the pressure of being in front of anyone else. So, when it came to walking down the aisle, I was having the best time and could really take it in. Would highly recommend this to any couple!”
Future As Mrs & Mr
After sharing the most beautiful and intimate day with their nearest and dearest, Eleanor and Jack are now more than excited to create their own family culture and traditions together: “We really want to be intentional about how we spend our days and what impact we want to have on the world around us. It’s pretty fun!”

“Calling my love my Husband and him calling me his Wife – there’s something special about that title.”
After 3 years of loving each other, this week’s White Lily bride Kaitlyn and husband Lachlan finally said their I do’s during their elegant Cali’ style wedding at the Calile Hotel on James Street, Brisbane.
The Picture-Perfect Proposal
“Lachlan proposed to me after 3 years of being together on a holiday in Western Australia. We had been on a wine tour of the Margaret River and he asked me to marry him at sunset on a private beach with a cheese and wine picnic.”
What was originally planned a backyard wedding, turned into the most exquisite, yet simple and elegant ceremony and reception in the City. Their gold and white decor was the perfect finish to the Californian vibe of Kaitlyn and Lachlan’s venue choice. Carefully placed greens along with white orchids and roses added a romantic touch and completed the tasteful and minimalist theme of the day: “We always wanted a simple and elegant wedding with basic formalities to spend more time with our guests.”
When planning their wedding, Kaitlyn and Lachlan had to deal with many last-minute changes, due to evolving COVID restrictions; However, luckily, none of their vendors let them down in any shape or form: “The top 4 were The Calile as a whole venue, Kate Dawes floristry, Carly Slade our celebrant and Figtree Photography – these 4 vendors focused on every single detail or our day making for a seamless, stress free and relaxing wedding day for ourselves and our families.“
When Kaitlyn first walked into our bridal boutique, she had a clear vision in mind: “There were so many different styles of gowns at White Lily Couture but I gave a description of who I was and my style and the third dress I tried on was the one – the girls at White Lily listened to who I was and what I wanted out of a wedding dress while still including my Mum and best friend in the experience. I felt like I was the only and most important customer in the shop at that time.” Our White Lily bride fell in love with the minimalist and elegant features of ANTIOPE by Pronovias: “…what I loved most was that it was a timeless style that I’ll always look back on and always love it just as I loved it on our wedding day.”
A Piece Of Advice
Experience is our best teacher so here is a piece of advice from this week’s White Lily bride: “…the most important thing I learnt is that it doesn’t matter what you do for your wedding, it is a day about love and if you have the ones you love with you the day will be perfect. Our wedding day was about us but it was also our opportunity to say thank you to all the important people in our lives for raising and supporting us up until that day cause now you have your husband/ wife to do that for the rest of your life.”
Complete the sentence: Being married means a life of endless love and support – ultimately too grow old and grey with the one who annoys you the most in life 🙂
