From the very beginning, Libby knew that her big day needed to be as special as ever. And what is more magical than saying your vows in an old cathedral dressed in a Cinderella-like ball gown?
The princess wedding was accompanied by a few vintage elements, which added a unique twist to the Queensland couple’s special day. Spending your first moments as husband and wife in a vintage car and ending the night surrounded by good company and wine barrels; So perfect, in many ways. We could truly feel the warm and intimate atmosphere, just by browsing through Libby and Justin’s wedding photos.
From Bumble Date To Wifey
Upon matching on Bumble, Libby and Justin’s fate was determined from date one: “We went out for a date on that Thursday and I think we both knew pretty quickly that it was something pretty special. Justin had only been back in Australia for about a month after working in Germany for 4.5 years so we both think that it was meant to be’!” As it turns out, it truly was meant to be!
When Libby and Justin finally got married, our White Lily bride couldn’t have been more excited. Libby cherishes those intimate moments during their ceremony and the feeling of knowing that Justin is finally her husband: “Also, spending some alone time with Justin in the cars and while getting photos was special to just be in a couple bubble for a little while.”
Planning A Wedding
Every time we read stories about how family members and loved ones aren’t able to attend our brides’ weddings, it breaks our heart. Being a prime Covid-Wedding couple, Libby and Justin weren’t spared from the many headaches Covid-19 has caused over the past year. Originally, their wedding was set for May 2020 and with only seven weeks to go, the Queensland couple made the stressful decision of cutting ties with their original date. Luckily, their new October date allowed most of their vendors to stay on board. However, when their big day finally came around, Covid-restrictions still wouldn’t allow Justin’s family to cross the NSW border: “It was a really hard decision to make but we were both tired of waiting and planning, and the thought of postponing again seemed impossible.” To make up for some of the distance, Libby and Justin ended up live-streaming the ceremony and hiring a videographer to capture all precious moments. The new normal!
“Would I notice this about someone else’s wedding?”
To all brides, who are stressing about little details and worrying about what others might think, Libby left one very important piece of advice. A simple question to ask yourself that can take away loads of pressure:
‘Would I notice this about someone else’s wedding?’
It’s crazy how such a simple question can make all the difference when planning your wedding: “I think it’s easy to get carried away with turning the day into a fairy tale, but the wedding is about the marriage and I think it’s important that the day reflects you both as a couple.”
Making Libby’s princess dreams come true and finding the perfect wedding dress for her was most definitely a highlight for us. After falling in love with the volume of her Nicole Milano gown, Libby couldn’t resist but make her her own: “I felt like a real bride in my gown because she was such a princess dress, and I would obviously never wear anything like it for any other reason. It was just really special, and it was funny getting stuffed into the car!”
What The Future Holds
With their wedding planning stress in the past, Libby and Justin are now enjoying being parents to their two new kittens. When the world opens up again, the couple also can’t wait to go on their belated overseas honeymoon.
Other than that “…just being married is pretty nice.”

A dreamy church location embellished with blush decor and mountains of love. Our White Lily bride Emily and husband Jacob couldn’t help but glow on their special day.
How it all began
Meeting your soulmate is something else. And sometimes the way it happens makes us think that it is truly meant to be. This week’s White Lily bride Emily and her now-husband Jacob’s love story began when Emily went to her Uni friend’s 18th birthday party, who also happened to be Jacob’s childhood best friend.
“The story of Jacob and I involves a lot of random coincidences that will make every skeptic believe that we were destined to be together.”
After attending the party, the Queensland couple discovered many more links and coincidences, which would have led Emily and Jacob to one another, sooner rather than later: “…that truly made us believed that God had back up plans if we didn’t hit it off that night.”
The Big Day
When Emily’s special day finally came around, she wanted to make sure that their wedding was filled with personal touches from both, bride and groom. Most importantly, Emily wanted that Jacob had a say in the planning process and was happy with how it all turned out “He also had full say over what the boys wore along with other things.” Teamwork makes the dream work!
The Most Precious Memories
Although our White Lily bride’s wedding day was filled with unforgettable moments, there was one memory that stood out to her. Jacob made Emily’s night by writing a song, just for her, and having their friend perform it during the couple’s first dance: “It was just such a special moment, one of those moments you see in movies. Its very different when you know they mean every word in the song as they wrote it as a love letter to you.” What can we say? We’re suckers for romance!
The Wedding Dress
Emily’s White Lily experience was special to her and special to us in many ways:
“I was only 4 days post-op and 2 days before the appointment I found out I had cancer. So it was a very big moment for me where I just wanted to feel beautiful and be happy for one day…and you guys provided that for me. They were very gentle in helping me get into the dresses and were patient with me. I am so grateful for you guys as you made it a truly enjoyable day where I could feel beautiful in the midst of everything that was going on. Thank you and thank you to my stylist with all of my heart.”
After starring at a photo for weeks, Emily came to our Brisbane boutique, thinking she wouldn’t ‘suit’ her dream wedding dress. However, when she finally saw the Pronovias gown in-store, she decided to put it on and was overwhelmed by its beauty. Emily knew straightaway that it was simply perfect: “It was the perfect combination of tradition and class due to the lace with a hint of sexy due to the fit. The train was my life along with the lace on the back. The hint of sparkly was enough to make me feel like a princess.”
There is no greater planning advice than from a bride who has just created the wedding of her dreams. Upon asking Emily what she advised future brides to focus on, she emphasised the importance of listening to what you and your partner want and staying firm, regardless of your guests’ wishes: “… it’s important to keep your focus on why you are having a wedding in the first place…to make that commitment and show your love for your partner to the world. If you keep that in the forefront of your mind when planning, the little things will not seem as important or stress-inducing.”
The Next Chapter
As a newlywed couple, Emily and Jacob are looking forward to exploring the world together. Among their many mountain bike adventures and ballet visits, the couple is also looking forward to doing mission work together to help others in need. What a great way to start off their new chapter, as husband and wife!Photographer: Narrative Wedding StudioMakeup: Kelly BriggsCake: BvkedHair: Black Flamingo StudioSuits: Politix ChermsideStylist: Darling Don’t PanicCelebrant: Adon GilchristSinger: Davina MooreBridesmaid dresses: Babaroni
2nd February, 2021 | by AleraA cozy marquee adorned with fairy lights and surrounded by the beautiful nature of Mount Tamborine – Sophie and Jase’s wedding day, or shall we say days, were unique, raw, and beautiful.
After meeting at church and getting past the initial ‘shy stage’, Sophie and Jase couldn’t wait to commit to a lifetime of loving each other: “…he’s the best person on earth and life with him is immeasurably more joyful.” The feels…
When the wedding date finally arrived, the green and natural theme of the day was finished with the most beautiful selection of maroon-coloured flowers. The deep-red elements added to the homely atmosphere and created cozy vibes all throughout the day.
Wedding Planning and Advice
Being a wedding professional herself, Sophie knew that Covid-19 was going to be a challenge. As a wedding photographer, our White Lily bride had to not only deal with the stress of her covid-affected couples but also with the ever-changing restrictions of her own wedding. Nevertheless, Sophie and Jase were able to find a creative solution: “Pre-Covid, we would’ve had about 350 guests! In the end, we had two days with two different lots of guests to work around the regulations at the time, and those who were stranded across the border tuned in via livestream.” A covid-wedding in a nutshell!
Despite the stressful planning, Sophie and Jase loved every moment of their special day. “There were several times that we paused and looked around – at all of our guests inside and outside the marquee just enjoying themselves and at how beautiful it all was… seeing our loved ones all having a good time together made us absolutely over the moon.”
To help out future brides, Sophie even revealed her wedding planning secret “Jase and I wrote down what the top 3 priorities for our wedding day were to us, and we went from there. The only thing you actually *have* to do on your wedding day is the legal stuff in the ceremony – everything else is free game.”
When it was time to ‘Say Yes To The Dress’, Sophie was looking for a unique wedding gown, she hadn’t seen on one of her brides before: “… I’ve seen a lot of gowns in my time, some of them multiple times over, but this gown was unique to me and it felt like mine and only mine.” Sophie loved how her wedding dress by Wedding Societe was comfortable and flowy. She even added some tulle off-the-shoulder sleeves and a layer of skin-coloured tulle, to give the skirt a champagne colour and custom look.
Our bride of the week Sophie absolutely nailed her wedding day look and managed to organise not one, but two unforgettable wedding days. With memories to keep for a lifetime, newlyweds Sophie and Jase are looking forward to lots of adventures to come: “…if we’re lucky, overseas ones! And a whole lot of love and navigating whatever it is that life brings our way with joy together as a team.”
