One thing is for sure, White Lily bride Jordyn and husband Jordon’s wedding day is one to remember. Starting with their oh-so fitting names, their picture-perfect day was gorgeous in every way. Colourful details and tasteful decor, made this week’s White Lily bride and her guests have an unforgettable day.

And just like their wedding day, the way Jordyn and Jordon met was unique and sweet. You know we love a good high school love story, so we were beyond excited to hear that these two lovebirds met all the way back in 2013. The Queensland couple had been going to the same school for years and eventually bonded during their exchange trip to Japan. Inseparable since, Jordyn and Jordon finally became hubby and wifey, seven years later.

Being a Covid-bride means overcoming obstacles, which is why the Brisbane couple had to postpone their wedding day by six months. Yet, rescheduling their celebrations couldn’t stop them from eloping on their original date: “We loved our original date so much that we decided to elope with just our mums and celebrant.” What a great way to keep your original wedding date!

    The Dress
She came, she saw, she fell in love with ERMIN by Pronovias. Our gorgeous ERMIN gown arrived as part of our 2019 collection and Jordyn instantly fell in love with its details, quality, and uniqueness. “My White Lily gown was comfortable, flawless and such stunning quality. I loved that I could add sleeves to make my dress slightly more me. It looked absolutely magical and I couldn’t have loved it more!” Adding the sleeves to her dress completed her vision and gave Jordyn a custom look, that truly photographed incredibly.

Jordyn’s piece of advice to future brides
“Don’t take it too seriously – enjoy the process and try not to get too caught up in pleasing everyone else!“

Jordyn and Jordon are now ready to tackle their future as husband and wife and can’t wait to start a family together.

  • Monique & Brad – Breathtaking Views and Gorgeous Details

Beautiful wedding decor and views that will take your breath away. This week’s White Lily bride had us gasping with her stunning wedding images.

Our bride of the week, Monique, met her other half when she attended the Roma Races, also known as ‘love’ races, in 2015. As soon as they laid eyes on one another, Monique and Brad couldn’t help but feel the spark. What started off as a long-distance relationship, soon turned into the most magical bond. After powering through their first year of spending far too much time apart, the Queensland couple finally decided to move in together.

After all these years together, Monique and Brad finally became husband and wife. Their wedding took place on their magical estate in Kingaroy. With an amazing backdrop and gorgeous views, the Queensland couple’s day was highlighted by soft and romantic tones. The pastel pink flowers and luscious greens created a warm, intimate, and unforgettable ambiance. The day was completed by the presence of Monique and Brad’s closest friends and family. “…Our day was magic and I could never have imagined it to be as perfect as it was.

As Monique planned her wedding, she prioritised three things: The wedding dress, the flower arrangements, and a photographer that would be able to capture all of her precious wedding day moments. With her sister in law being the owner of Shutter + Lace, she got a talented photographer and supporting bridesmaids in one. She also got lucky with her hairstylist, who happened to be one of her bridesmaids as well. A real power bridal party!

When she began her bridal journey, Monique was looking for a wedding dress that stood out from the crowd. She tried on ORA by Enzoani and was fascinated by all the details. She also loved the stunning train, Enzoani is renowned for: “…the reaction from my bridesmaids when I walked out in ‘Ora’ was unforgettable and that was how I knew it was ‘the dress’.”

“The experience at White Lily was like no other. Rachel was so kind, she made me feel so comfortable and didn’t mind if we tried on every gown to find my dream dress. The beautiful boutique made the experience so special and I loved that there were so many different designers and styles to chose from.” Monique truly looked incredible and we can’t even begin to explain how happy we are to have made her bridal dreams come true.

    Covid Weddings
As we all know, organising a wedding isn’t always a walk in the park. One of the questions we always ask our White Lily brides is how they managed to plan their wedding during Covid-19. Since a large chunk of Monique and Brad’s guests were in New South Wales, the Queensland couple had to reduce their guest list significantly. To get through these difficult times and to deal with the ever-changing restrictions, Monique advises to establish plans for different scenarios surrounding Covid: “…at least then if a situation arises it won’t be as stressful.”

Having dealt with some of the most stressful times, our White Lily bride of the week also advises to enjoy the experience and to make your wedding your own: “…everyone has their own style so as long as you love it that is all that matters.”

Saying ‘I do’ was only the start to all of the exciting things ahead, in Monique and Brad’s future. The newly-weds can’t wait to find a place to call home and spend the rest of their lives together.

  • Sammi & Warrick – An Emotional Celebration of Love

    12th January, 2021 | by
    read more

After 12 years of loving each other, White Lily Bride of the week Sammi and husband Warrick got to say their vows during an intimate and emotional ceremony at Braeside, on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Groom Warrick brought it home with his vows and made our bride of the week Sammi one happy wife: “He was so emotional in that moment and the love I felt was indescribable.” We love LOVE!

Planning a wedding that represented who they are as a couple was their first priority. So, to make their friends and family “feel in the moment” as much they did, Sammi and Warrick ensured that the couple’s big day revolved around their love for each other: “Remember that this is about you and your soul mate. You are celebrating your love and commitment to each other, and your day should be everything you want.” We couldn’t agree more!

One of Sammi’s favourite memories from the day was seeing her bridesmaids’ faces when spotting her in her wedding dress: “MY HYPE TEAM!! Thinking about it makes my heart so happy.” And her hype team was absolutely right, Sammi looked incredible in her wedding dress!

When she first walked into our Brisbane bridal store, she had no idea that she would fall in love with GALIAH by Stella York: “It was the complete opposite to what I imagined myself in, yet it was absolutely perfect in every way. The sparkle, the colour, the detail!! ARGHH I literally kept it out for 2wks and almost cried when I had to put her away!”

Upon asking Sammi what she loved most about her experience in our bridal boutique, she applauded our attention to detail and how she got to share the ‘Say Yes To The Dress’ moment with her closest friends and family: “I got to try on a range of dresses, I had Inese as my bridal consultant and she listened to everything I was saying. Down to the fine details, she listened to my family and what they loved and didn’t love. Then when I put the dress on, she and I both looked and just knew it was the one.

Since Sammi and Warrick only started making final decisions one to two months before the wedding, they didn’t have to make any major Covid-adjustments. Although they were prepared for a dance battle, the only thing they missed out on was a d-floor. The Brisbane couple still managed to put together their dream wedding day with memories they will cherish forever. For all brides who are struggling with new Covid-19 restrictions altering their plans, Sammi’s advice is to keep calm and adapt to change “Don’t freak out, talk to your planner or other brides. Adapt to the changes, you will be amazed to find out you can still have your dream day even with a global pandemic.

Now, that the couple finally got married and Sammi is about to finish her degree, they are looking forward to buying a house together and hopefully going on a honeymoon soon.

  • What To Look For When Shopping For Wedding Rings

    12th January, 2021 | by
Shopping for Wedding Rings Xennox Diamonds x White Lily Couture read more

You’ve got your dress appointment sorted and now it’s time to browse for wedding rings. YAY! We all love shiny things, so finding a ring to wear for the rest of your life can’t be that difficult, right?

Well, actually… There are a few things to consider, for both, brides AND grooms. Luckily, we got some help from the experts at Xennox Diamonds, to put together a few guidelines when shopping for wedding rings. So let’s grab hubby and have a read through the following tips for finding the perfect wedding bands.

How to match your engagement ring with your wedding ring

You’ve found your soulmate, you have a beautiful engagement ring, now it’s time to do some matching! So what’s the perfect match for your engagement ring?

    Diamonds or no Diamonds

If your engagement ring is filled with diamonds, then going for a diamond band will be your best option too. If your engagement ring, however, doesn’t have any diamonds in it,  feel free to go with either, diamonds or traditional. It just depends on how much bling you like.

    Size

In terms of size, it’s always best to match the size of the diamonds with the width of the band. If that’s simply not possible, try to not have a noticeable difference. In the end, you want them to look like they belong together.

    Match the metal

We often think that picking the right type of diamonds is the most important choice. However, the actual metal you are picking makes a huge difference and is super important as well.  You always need to make sure to match the metal of your rings. If your engagement ring is platinum, then you will also need a platinum ring. Each metal has a completely different level of hardness – you don’t want one rubbing into the other!

    Standing out from the crowd

If you are wanting to go for a bit of a different look and stand out from the crowd, mixing different colours can be a great option. I.e. white and gold are a Match Made in Heaven!

If you are after something truly unique, seeking a hand made jeweller is always ideal. They will make the rings on-site and design something that truly matches your engagement ring. It will even look like both engagement ring, and wedding ring was made by the same jeweller. Xennox Diamonds don’t even charge extra for their custom designs, which is a great plus.

    Let’s talk about lead times

You should always consider going shopping for your wedding rings, a while in advance. If you are choosing the custom route, the timeframe you should expect is somewhere between six and nine months before the wedding.

    Warranty

Warranty is extremely important when choosing your jeweller. After all, the rings are forever so having a lifetime warranty with your ring is desirable. Always make sure to ask your jeweller about their warranty and services like complimentary stone tightening and minor stone replacement. These kinds of things can make a huge difference, so it’s always a great idea to ask these questions.

    Hubby to be

So what are some of the best options for grooms at the moment? If you’re looking for a band that is extremely scratch resistant, Platinum 600 will be a great pick. This particular Platinum is alloyed with tungsten and considered to be one of the most durable metals on the market. If you are after a band that isn’t too shiny and has a more grey and rustic vibe to it, Tantalum is a good option. Sometimes called black gold this natural dark grey metal can be used to create amazing jewellery. The gun metal grey colour is not only super fashionable but also durable.

Also ladies, while you might have some great ideas on what he should wear, let him have a say.  If he likes it, he is more likely to wear it, right?

    Happy wedding band shopping!

  • Real Bride Revolution x Mediterranean Styled Session

    11th January, 2021 | by
    diversity bridal photoshoot read more

Inspired by our Real Bride Revolution diversity campaign, we created a styled bridal shoot, which allowed us to showcase our dresses in a diverse and modern way. We finished up on a high and were absolutely stunned by the beautiful outcome.

    Real Bride Revolution

So let’s start off with a short recap and talk about what inspired this shoot. The White Lily Real Bride Revolution stands for diversity, self-love, and self-acceptance. Although finding ‘The One’ is mostly perceived as a positive experience, we knew that the bridal industry needed a change! Unfortunately, designers often don’t take all body types into consideration, when taking their stock images or posting to Social Media. Too often we get sent images, that don’t show any sense of diversity, whatsoever. We’re all different. We’re all beautiful. So why not show our beauty in different shapes on Social Media?

    Concept

Given the above, we wanted to create a concept that showcased the beauty of real women.

Hence, when planning this styled shoot, we approached Tarah, Caitlin, Gill, and Cassandra, who had already experienced the White Lily experience as part of our Real Bride Revolution. Each and every one of these girls was beautiful in their own way, which made this photoshoot so special and added a sense of realness.

We were also beyond excited to be working with Lauren Olivia Photography, who had already created the most magical outcome for our last Gabbinbar Homestead Styled Shoot earlier this year. Lauren’s wedding photography is bright, beautiful, and exactly what we envisioned for our Real Bride Revolution; and she most definitely knocked us off our feet with this one!

    Styling

To ensure that the colour palette and mood of the shoot would complement the dresses, without distracting from the girls’ beauty, we decided to go for a modern Mediterranean and French Riviera vibe. We envisioned a location with a variety of greens and whites. When we came across Next Door Espresso in Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast, we instantly knew that their café would be the perfect location for our campaign. It was bright, versatile, modern, and everything we had hoped for.

The flowers were provided by Brittany from My Little Flower Shoppe, and combined bright and blush pastels with modern dried florals. Just stunning! We also incorporated a mixture of jewellery from The Bridal Shoppe as well as Xennox Diamonds. Adding different tones of gold and mixing silvers and pearls, created a modern and versatile look.

Everything came together beautifully once all pieces were combined. The set-up of the shoot complemented each other in every possible way. All in all, It was a magical day and we were extremely grateful to work with some of the most beautiful people in our industry.

  • Candice and Roberto – A Glamorous and Cultural Wedding Day

    4th January, 2021 | by
    read more

Our first White Lily Real Bride of 2021 glamorously strut down the aisle during her beautiful ceremony at St James Church, in Brisbane. Their celebrations continued at the Victoria Park gold complex; Chandeliers, blush flower constellations, and a dress that took hubby’s breath away – Candice’s wedding day was the perfect combination of culture and glamour.

The couple first met in Brisbane city, when their families got together for an event. Turns out Candice and Roberto’s mothers were best friends over 30 years ago but eventually lost touch. In 2015, they decided to bring together their families and reignite their friendship. Who could have known that their kids would fall in love? Bringing together the husband and wife’s family has never been so easy…

When planning her Wedding, Candice ensured that the couple’s cultural traditions were honoured. Most importantly, the Brisbane couple wanted to enjoy their day to the fullest and make memories they would cherish for all eternity. And so they did: “The whole day, every moment was so special and had that once in a lifetime feeling. We cherished every moment – big or small!” Mission complete!

As mentioned above, Candice’s wedding day was as glamorous as ever. And so was her wedding dress. She fell in love with the colour, the details, and the crystals on INDRA by Stella York: ”… I slipped into it – it took my breath away and I knew it was made for me.” Candice’s visit to our Brisbane boutique was a success and we were so excited to make her bridal dreams come true. “The staff were so amazing even during the COVID-19 Pandemic they catered to my needs and made my dreams come true. My dress arrived before the scheduled time – the ladies worked to make it all happen for me.

Although Candice and Roberto had to change their location, their wedding day turned out to be perfect. With help from their amazing wedding stylists Nicole and Justine from Beautiful Weddings, they overcame all Covid-19 boundaries and create something even more special. The Brisbane couple learned to just take it as it is and adapt to changes: “It makes it just that tad more special – and a great story to tell the kids!“

Given the above, Candice’s advice to future brides is to just relax and take it easy throughout the planning process. “The more relaxed you are the smoother things will run.” Keeping a cool head in stressful times truly works wonders! Candice also emphasises to enjoy all the moments you have together on the day and take the time to tell your husband or wife how amazing they look!

Now that Candice and Roberto finally said yes to eternity, the couple is looking forward to traveling the world together, start a family, and grow old together.
