Imagine eloping on a mountain top. It is just you, the love of your life, and a handful of your closest family. Imagine having your first dance as the clouds open up and the golden sunlight peeps through. Looking across the ocean whilst being surrounded by hillside views, made White Lily bride Zoe and husband Shaun’s elopement unforgettable. Even just the thought of this gives us goosebumps! Wait until you see the photos…
Zoe and Shaun both love to travel, which is why meeting in Vanuatu doesn’t seem like such a coincidence. They both attended a mutual friend’s wedding as bridesmaid and groomsman. Zoe and Shaun’s instant connection was undeniable and they spent their first night “snuggled up together under the stars. We were laying on a hammock at the beach, listening to the waves crashing. We spoke for hours and the conversation flowed easily.“ Can it get any more romantic? After a few short months apart, they finally met up again for a friend’s birthday, where they, yet again, snuck away, to go for Zoe’s first-ever Ferris wheel ride: “When we reached the top of the wheel we had a romantic kiss. I was on cloud nine. “… like, seriously?
Just over three years later, Zoe and Shaun started planning their elopement, with only three months to go. Covid threw their initial plans of having a helicopter wedding, overlooking the mountains in Queenstown, New Zealand. Instead, the couple relocated to Emu Mountain in Queensland: “Emu mountain was perfect as it was easy accessible without having to do a major hike in our wedding attire and provided both ocean and hillside views.” Since Zoe and Shaun both love to hike, they wanted to make sure to bring their hiking backpacks on the day: “So we attached just married signs with cans to our backpacks and wore them up the mountain which looked amazing.” 11/10 for creativity!
Upon asking what Zoe’s most memorable part of the day was she describes dancing on top of the mountain, under the beautiful sky. “…the clouds opened up just enough for the golden sunlight to peep through. It was magical.” We can’t get enough of this elopement story!
During their intimate ceremony with only their parents and sisters, Shaun remembers seeing his wife for the first time that day: “She walked towards me while I had my back to her. When I turned around she took my breath away. “
Speaking about taking Shaun’s breath away…
Zoe came into our Brisbane boutique looking for a dress that reflected the bohemian vibe of their mountain top wedding. After trying on countless dresses, she finally discovered OLIVE by Wedding Society and fell in love with her details and lace. “I had such a special experience with white Lily Couture… The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help me find my dress. ” Zoe had tears in her eyes when she finally found The One, and the style of the dress couldn’t have been more fitting for the setting of her elopement.
Despite Covid-19, Zoe and Shaun managed to pull off an amazing ceremony with photographer, videographer, celebrant, and florist. Although things might not work out the way you initially planned them to, our White Lily bride advises to just go with the flow: “Your original plans may have fallen through, but your wedding day can still be perfect. It may even turn out to be more magical then you had originally planned. The day is what you make it.” Zoe also advised focusing on what is important to you and how you envision your big day: “Do what you want to do and not what is expected. Eloping on a mountain top and having an intimate picnic for 2 at sunset on the mountain made it the most amazing memorable and special day for us both, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. “
As you may have guessed, the couple is already planning their next overseas travel, to Canada, Norway, and Iceland, for when the borders open up. “We look forward to the many more hikes, plane rides, beach trips and backpacking adventures we are going to have.”

What flower dreams are made of. Looking at the photos from White Lily bride Angeline’s wedding day left us completely stunned. The Brisbane couple celebrated their love with a beautiful ceremony, followed by a uniquely decorated reception with, not hundreds, but thousands of gorgeous flowers. Their carefully selected flower arrangements truly showcased the mastery of attention to detail. The subtle colour palette put the focus on Angeline’s wedding dress, which made it all come together like a true masterpiece.
Meeting at iSEE Church in Brisbane, Angeline and Joseph soon realised that ‘forever’ sounds like the perfect plan. Getting married in the place they met, truly was their dream come true; we couldn’t have been more excited to be part of Angeline’s bridal journey.
When Angeline visited our Brisbane bridal boutique, she remembers having her eyes shut when putting on her dream wedding dress: “…as soon as I put my hands in the sleeves I just lost it! (I cried happy tears of course haha) I loved it immediately before I had seen it on me. “ It is those magical moments that we love most about our ‘job’. We remember seeing Angeline wearing MARQUISE by Zavana Couture and thinking “Yup, that’s the one!” Angeline also recalls walking into our store and feeling special and looked after at all times: ”As soon as I walked in the doors, immediately we were looked after. I had my mother, my sister and brother with me (that was so special) the staff went above and beyond to make it so special for not only me but my family.” How could we not love our job?
Upon asking what Angeline’s favourite part of the day was, she reminisces about the moment she walked down the aisle; ”Walking down the aisle with my father was so special and walking towards my husband. It felt like everything just paused and it was just the two of us! I can always see that moment when ever I think about it. It was definitely a dream!” Definitely one of those moments that gives us goosebumps by just thinking about it!
Being a family oriented person, Angeline wanted to make sure that both of their families were able to attend and witness their wedding day. Despite the stressful nature of COVID-19, the Brisbane couple was able to share their big day with all of their loved ones. Something truly special during these uncertain times!
When thinking about their future plans together, the Brisbane couple is looking forward to exploring the world together; once COVID restrictions ease, of course. A little later down the track, Angeline and Joseph would also love to start a family together – having “little ones running around” is definitely something the newly married couple is looking forward to!
Angeline also left us with a short but extremely valuable piece of advice for those in the midst of planning their wedding:
“Enjoy it! Enjoy every process. If you love it, go for it! It’s your day.”

Who, When, Where
Located in one of Queensland’s hidden gems, we put together a styled shoot with some of the most talented vendors, within the wedding industry. The fairytale-like charm at the heritage-listed Gabbinbar Homestead in Toowoomba added to the princess vibes of the shoot and created a unique atmosphere. Looking back on this beautiful March day, we were able to put together something so special, it’s hard to know where to even begin.
Our couture wedding dresses were captured in the most beautiful way by Lauren Olivia Photography. Lauren is an amazing photographer, who just knows how to translate precious moments into the most gorgeous photographs. The lighting and colours on this day were absolutely magical, which resulted in breathtaking imagery. Out of this world would be an understatement.
We also got the chance to work with Wander and Follow Images. Joel created a film, which we will cherish and obsess over forever. You HAVE TO check it out!
When selecting the gowns, we wanted to add a modern twist to the old-world style of this bridal shoot. Working with traditional fabrications like tulle and lace allowed us to incorporate modern designs. LARISA by Pronovias combines a princess-like tulle skirt with modern ruffles. The sheerness of the semi-illusion tulle on ROSSANA also added a modern touch, whilst complementing the classic theme of the day.
What we loved most about this shoot? Something about the style of this shoot felt like it stepped straight out of a Disney film or a classic novel. The kind of wedding you would look back on and still be head-over-heels in love with every choice you made.
Styled with burnished silver, crystal glassware, and spring garden-style florals, this old-world styling felt incredibly romantic and fully realised – allowing the day to center around its true meaning – a celebration of love. Can’t you just picture yourself driving off into the sunset in a classic cream Bentley alongside the tuxedo-clad man of your wildest dreams? We truly can’t stop thinking about this day and would love to do it over, and over, and over again.

Imagine having your big day canceled less than a week before your wedding date! COVID threw more than one curveball at Andrea and Adrian, yet nothing could stop them from fulfilling their dreams of having the perfect wedding day.
When Andrea met Adrian on Bumble in late August 2018, it didn’t take her long to realise that Adrian was The One. Despite Adrian’s tough schedule working FIFO, 4 weeks-away, the Brisbane couple was engaged within six months of meeting each other. The power of dating platforms, right?!
Before meeting Adrian, Andrea had never put much thought into getting married. Hence, when it got to their planning stage, she had no idea where to start. Both of them just wanted to have a fun, memorable, and special day with their friends and family. Andrea also mentioned that it was important to her to have a unique wedding day, which wasn’t really like any other wedding she had been to before. Unique it was, indeed! At this stage, the Brisbane couple had no idea that COVID was going to affect their plans, majorly.
As mentioned above, Andrea and Adrian’s wedding day couldn’t have been scheduled for a worse date: “Our original wedding date was the 28th of March, so weddings were effectively cancelled by ScoMo the Sunday before. We had guests from interstate with us already, so they had to leave on the Monday to get back home before their state borders closed.” Going ahead with a smaller ceremony or eloping instead wasn’t an option for the two.Hence, Andrea and Adrian’s big day ended up being pushed back until the 5th of September: “It made it even more special to be there with our family and friends, and it almost felt like a double celebration – we are finally married AND we survived the Rona!” Moral of the story: being patient during uncertain times pays off and can allow us to create something even more special!
Now, let’s talk about Andrea’s wedding dress! When Andrea arrived in our Brisbane boutique, she wasn’t quite sure what style she would like. But with help from our stylist Connie, she was able to discover and fall in love with FAUN by Nicole Milano: “I loved how the design flattered my shape, the gorgeous low back, and how it was modern but still elegant. I really loved the beautiful lace and beading, especially the detail on the straps. It was also comfortable to wear all day.” You will have to scroll down and look at the photos of Andrea in her dream bridal gown -Just stunning!
Upon asking Andrea what the most memorable part of the day was, she remembers thinking “…we actually made it!!” We can only imagine, what a relieve that must have been. Since their wedding was one of the first social events people had attended post-lockdown, Andrea also remembers that the atmosphere was even more fun and celebratory, than they had hoped for. It was a gorgeous sunny day and it all came together beautifully. Despite her mum stepping on the back of her dress and causing one last moment of panic, it turned out to be a magical day (the dress was fine btw. Phew!) Happy bride, happy us!
Being a prime example of having to go through stressful wedding planning, Andrea’s advices to trust your vendors and to not stress about little details: “..if you hire great vendors just let them do what they’re good at and take their advice. For example, I knew I loved flowers and wanted our day full of bright flowers, but I didn’t know what would be in season or exactly what design, etc would look best. So I just spoke with our florist, told her the sorts of colours I would like, and let her have free reign. Our flowers were absolutely stunning and we got so many compliments; our florist knew what would look best and I think it shows. “ Andrea also emphasises the importance of asking your venue directly about restrictions: “Don’t post on Facebook groups or ask your friends their opinions on restrictions – each venue has different restrictions to adhere to and only they can tell you about them.”Oh, and a DJ! The Brisbane couple says that hiring a DJ was one of the best decisions they made, so they could just sit back and enjoy the day. We all love a good Dj!
Now, that Andrea and Adrian’s wedding day has passed they are looking forward to spending their lives together, in their beautiful home, as husband and wife. Hopefully one day soon, they are hoping to go on their honeymoon in Europe: “…but for now, life is just great.”

Curvy Brides, We Hear You!
Being a woman means to be unique and we all know that each and every one of us is different. Since we come in all shapes and sizes, we need to make sure that our wedding dresses cater to exactly that, including plus sizes! We celebrate inclusivity and love getting you in your dream dress. Hence, we currently have over 50 samples in store that are a size 16 and above; this includes gowns that go up to size 30.
However, since a lot of bridal designers, don’t showcase versatile bodies within their marketing collaterals, it’s hard to imagine how many plus-size dresses, in fact, exist. So let’s take a closer look at which designers are focusing on plus-size wedding dresses and how they are promoting inclusivity within the bridal industry.
Pronovias x Ashley Graham
Earlier this year, Pronovias launched their Ashley Graham collection. Ashley Graham is a supermodel, entrepreneur, and body activist. She is passionate about making women feel confident, beautiful, and strong in their own skin. In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, Pronovias Chief Artistic Director Alessandra Rinaudo partnered with Ashley. Together, they created a varied collection of stunning bridal designs, suited to all body types. The capsule features improved structure and fits across all sizes, from size 0 to 34. This includes new, built-in shapewear and an integrated, supportive bra. These plus-size wedding dresses guarantee glamour and we promise that you´ll strut down the aisle glowing with confidence. In an interview with Vogue, Ashley says: “I want the Ashley Graham x Pronovias bride to feel bold, brilliant, and beautiful. I want her to be blissfully happy and confident as she embarks on this new chapter in her life.” We are honestly obsessed.
Every Body Every Bride
Another one of our designers, who is doing an amazing job at promoting curve designs, is Stella York. Stella York and the Essense of Australia group launched the ‘Every Body Every Bride‘ range. They believe every bride, regardless of her body shape or size, should experience the joy of finding the designer wedding dress of her dreams. We couldn’t agree more! Which is why we are one of the selected stores in Australia to showcase the EBEB collection; providing brides with a greater selection of sample gowns in sizes 18 – 34. All of these gowns have been created using our new sizing system, which better represents the needs and proportions of the size 18+ bride. Yay!
We Are Here To Help
Too often women walk into our boutique with preconceptions about how they look and what they ‘can and can’t wear.’ It honestly breaks our hearts! Trust us, when we say this: You are going to find ‘The One‘. And we will help you with every step along the way. Our expert Stylists are trained in selecting gowns for varied body shapes and sizes with the goal of making every woman feel fabulous in her dream gown. To make sure that you feel comfortable during your appointment, we always recommend wearing shapewear or nude underwear and a strapless bra. We will be working with you in the change room to assist with achieving the best fit so make sure you are comfortable in your undergarments, at all times.
So, stop worrying about ‘not fitting’. Always remember: You’re perfect and your dream dress is just waiting for you to wear it down the aisle.

An intimate and romantic wedding celebration on Elizah’s family estate is what made this bride of the week’s big day unique and special. Just like every modern love story, Elizah and Sam’s journey began when they met online. Apparently, all the effort we put into the ‘gram can be worth it in the end – #instalove! Despite COVID, this beautiful couple was able to celebrate their love with family and friends on their special day. The all-over beading on Elizah’s dress added to the elegance and romance of their cozy rustic wedding.
As mentioned above, Elizah and Sam’s ceremony and reception took place on Private property in Cedar Creek, Queensland, at Elizah’s family home. Being surrounded by family and friends was a luxury in 2020; hence, Elizah noted the most memorable part of the day was walking down the aisle thinking “we made it”, despite all the obstacles presented by the year.
Elizah came into our Brisbane bridal boutique, for her appointment and left feeling ecstatic from the ease and detail of the day: “The team treated me like I was the only one in the entire venue, with help imagining myself on the day”. She wore the beautiful, beaded wedding dress TATUM by Zavana Couture. The perfect mermaid silhouette and all-over beading of TATUM had Elizah feeling as elegant and chic as “someone from the Great Gatsby!” And she looked absolutely gorgeous in her wedding gown.
When asking Elizah for advice to all future brides, the Brisbane couple urges, those planning around COVID-19, to remember why you are getting married. Especially, every time things seem overwhelming: “As long as you’ve got the right person waiting for you at the end of the aisle, you can do no wrong.” We couldn’t agree more!
With COVID-19 restrictions changing from week to week, Elizah and Sam used this as an opportunity to test their problem-solving skills as a couple and made the best of what was possible. “No amount of planning can prepare you for a pandemic and things won’t go to plan, breathe deep, soak it in and embrace the help you get offered.” You got this, COVID-brides!
Elizah said that many of her favourite memories came from those made with her mum and dad working to transform the family home into their fabulous wedding venue. Making memories to last a lifetime became a major part of their wedding and we feel incredibly grateful to have been part of this Brisbane bride’s special day.
Sam and Elizah look forward to traveling together once the pandemic ends, growing their family, and of course, no more wedding planning!
